Punishment fit the crime

I agree with the father, not out of revenge or anger but out of justice and logic. The fact that he was nine and apologetic doesn't exempt him from making a poor, criminal, and unfortunately harmful decision. He needs to be properly disciplined. 2 days of community service and a virtually nonexistent probation sentence seems inadequate. I'm not trying to give him a death sentence or even a prison term. But I think that the should add more to his sentence. Maybe some juve time, maybe some classes on the dangers of guns, or maybe some more service hours?

Unfortunately, the mother and father are ultimately responsible. And they should be hit too.

juvie aint gone help shit either....all juvie did was put me in contact with more young criminals day in and day out....actually it was kinda fun, and i learned a lot more....he'll only come out a little hardened=not scared to go back

i agree something should be done but he's 9....thats an issue with the parents/ uncle or whoever's gun it was...he didnt even take it out he just dropped the bag....the community service should be way more than that tho....let that lil nigga sweep parking lots for a few months

15....it was dudes in there as young as him tho.....when they would act up the guards would put them in the pod with the older guys and let them get picked on a while...just fucking with em tho, they had an understanding with the guards and knew why they did it....niggas got extra milksfor that shit lol

LOL.... but for real.. this does not sound like kid meant to shoot anybody. He probably wanted to show it off to his friends and shit like that. Didn't you guys read that the gun was in the backpack. This shit was really stupid and reckless but I don't see how the kid meant to hurt anyone here.
