I mean no disrespect to the late lyricist nor the Puerto Rican community that holds him on such a high pedestal... but.... he is not in the same category as Jay,Nas, Pac, etc. He is a good lyricist but I just don't place him in that class. I think Big L is a better MC than Pun,to be honest.. Pusha T as well.

Pun was lyrical its just he didnt impact hip hop like Pac and Biggie. People love Pac for many reasons. You know how many Pac stans there is? Look at any youtube video with a Pac song. Say fuck 2pac anywhere and see the look u get. He changed the game with the whole tattoo rah rah hard core gangsta shit. He also was a product of the black panthers so he made pro black music.

Biggie with Diddy changed east coast hip hop. Hip hop in NYC especially went from the Bootcamp Click baggy jeans, army fatigues clothes with tims to shiny suits and flossing.

Pun wasn't the first to rap fast as hell.. Rappers like Kool Moe Dee was doing it since the 70s. Bone thugs and Twista will out pace pun by 20 steps if it's just about rapping fast. They both came out before Pun.
