Now he needs to help build some affordable housing in Harlem, apartments and housing there is getting expensive as fuck. A lot of gentrification going on there, I'm hoping some rappers address this down the line somehow, in all places where gentrification is getting out of control.
Harlem is like a square mile. Where would you build affordable housing? What about all the projects?
Harlem isn't the biggest place, but gentrification is kicking many people out of their homes, especially older Black folk. Many places are actually underdeveloped and meanwhile, construction of luxury apartments are going up. I agree there's only so much space to go around but more affordable housing should be built in places that need them. If stores like Starbucks and Trader Joe's can find room to build office spaces, then affordable housing can be built too. I'm tired of stepping over homeless people in Manhattan and Brooklyn, I'm sure other places have it rough too.
Harlem is pretty much lost for middle class blacks. At least some black professionals are moving there
