I live in San Diego, CA. Flights from San Diego to Tel Aviv, Israel start at around $1,000. But the last time I went to Israel, I flew out of LA and got a round trip ticket for $800.

The site I use is skyscanner.com

They usually beat Kayak for ticket prices.

But yeah, for both of my trips to Israel I budgeted around $1300 including food and lodging.
