PS4's VR "Project Morpheus" Demo'd on The Tonight Show [video]

When oculus were "introducing people" to the tech they used the Unreal Engine and it looked decent and it was at a much earlier stage of development than this.

I'm just saying if I was the boss I would've made sure the game was little cleaner to give a better first time introduction to the public. Not a criticism of the tech necessarily. Let me have an opinion.

lol You don't know what you're talking about. Again, the point of concept demos is not to promote the Technology. Those demos have been around for months. Sony used them to introduce people to the tech. They aren't using them to promote it. They haven't really even started promoting it yet, but hey do your thang. Again, you can go read reviews. There are plenty of negative things people have brought up about the early build so there is definitely room for criticism. But no one is saying what you're saying because everyone understand that would be a stupid statement to make. But carry on, that type of thing is common on this board.

So putting it on the biggest late night show in America is not promoting it? Aight bro I got you.

It was a bit. Free publicity. They not going to say "No" to that, but throwing the shit on Jimmy Kimmel for a few laughs and presenting it at E3 or having a viewing event for it are two different things.

Look, I get what you're saying. I'm just pointing out that criticizing the way that demo looks really isn't a valid complaint. They already explained that it was just a little something they whipped up to give people an idea of what the system can do. Supposedly they have several teams working on real games, so when they have the configuration near complete and really start promoting it, they'll show off better stuff.

They kinda already have started that since they've also been demoing a build of the PS4 version of Thief with it.

You telling some shit I've said myself. Hell, I used to get paid to to argue. Good way to pass the time when you're bored.

Anyway, what would have been smart for the VR companies would have been for them to market it to theme parks like Universal Studios or Bush Gardens. Those parks already have pseudo thrill rides that are basically just big animatronic rigs set in front of a big theatre screen. The VR stuff would have been a pretty good evolution of those rides. Or they could set up VR arcades at those parks. Imagine something like 10 small animatronic racing rigs set up with something like Project Cars, which is supposed to be coming with VR support. I'm not a big driving sim fan, but I would think something like that would be the holy grail for people who do like those types of games.
