to be honest i listen to hip hop occasionally.. if that makes any difference.. and have been here as don't mind the forums themselves moreso than pumpin hip hop 24/7.. i think yeah rap music in general contradicts religion, period.

I mean would God really be thinking that the music and the subject matter and all is good in any way for us? i highly doubt it.

but don't forget not all are religious, just here for love of hip hop and to get some insight on religious discussions along the way

Hiphop turned me onto the rainman and led me to selling my soul to get into the Illuminati. It's an evil thing.

Really though think about it son. Jesus is hiphop, that's why he doesn't kill people with physical object and he will smite people with his verbal swords.

^Beneath the the comedic delivery, this post contains some universal truth.

@ TX...IMO people have their own personal reasons for coming here and repping what they rep on the spiritual, political or religious tip but they are drawn by a force bigger than their individual perspectives for reasons only the initiated can discern.

I duke it out here a lot, but I've learned more here than in any mosque, temple, church or synagogue.

"Preaching the word' is a Christian thing, which I am not, but I could imagine the rationale of some for doing so on a hip hop site. Yeshua hated the religious and political authorities. People forget he was not a popular dude and he chopped it up with all the outcasts of society. Hip-hop is the soundtrack of the modern day outcasts. Or maybe I'm just reaching...

Doesnt popular rap music contradict the bible? why are yall even members?

Well what better place to come. Does not the book say, I did not come call the righteous, but sinners to repentance?

Notwithstanding the piss poor exegesis and repellent dogmatic way some preach it. I think a more interesting question would be how many were influenced by those preaching the word? Because if they have had no influence after all this time then maybe they need to refine their approach or find another forum.

Yeah...And if there is influence exerted, is it negative or positive?

Well, if you are talking "politics", then maybe "Christians" shouldn't be on a hip-hop site (or any so-called secular site for that matter).
