it is said that a story was written by a guy named Garcia Oronez de Montalvo, in 1510, about a Black Queen named Califia. She and other women ruled over an island and it was named California. They were the most powerful Warriors in the world and they had weapons made of gold....A Spaniard named Hernando Cortez is said to have taken over Mexico and ending the Aztec empire, before going to the island looking for gold. He heard about Queen Califia and the land of all black women warriors and he wanted to meet the Queen. Her influence on him was so strong that he named the state California after the Black Queen. So California actually means the land where Black Women live. Be Enlightened!
