They were 1 of the most notorious Gangs in the City all these dudes grew up with a fucked up lifestyle grew poor, grew up in the projects, grew up most likley with out father figures, grew up having to sell crack and drugs to survive and pay the rent, grew up losing a lotta close friends who got shot or killed

You can only play the cards you given in life they making Music about their life experiences that is the foundation of Hip Hop

no, the foundation of hip hop was party style music...and the bolded shows you dont really know but you feel the "gimmick" aka the persona you think they have. like i said, it nothing wrong with that, but dont try and expect that your opinion has to be be the truth

By the way when i was speaking about real i meant Musically

Real as in Musically you got fire Lyrics, fire Beat, dope Delivery and Passion

What more can you ask for than that?

The Beat is crack raw and gritty

If you can understand these Southern Rappers with a Country accent how can you not understand a London accent?

http://www.5min.com/Video/The-Conscious-Rap-and-Hip-Hop-294372466

This video is of Dr. Michael Eric Dyson's opinion of Conscious Hip Hop in today's society.

The common thing is a lotta atleast majority feel Conscious Rappers like Talib Kweli, KRS 1 etc tend to be boring and too preachy

I think the average listener prefers Conscioness in a subtle way where its more real and authentic and not preachy

I don't want Rappers to educate me i think 90% will say the same thing let teachers and qualified professors do the educating

From Rap Artists i want to hear them Rap about their Pain and what they been through how their life was what they went through, what hardships they had, their life story etc and do it in a way where they express it with the rawest Emotion and Lyrically cfrated well that is all

The average listener doesn't listen to so-called "conscious" rappers because the radio doesn't play their music which was the point of the video. GTFO your own bullshit thread.
