I was wondering how long this was gonna go on before niggas realized a credit score of 847 is virtually impossible.

Highest credit score achievable with FICO is 850

I'm good at a 736. Took a long time to get there. Recently just re-financed a personal loan at this local bank and got a sweet deal too. Only $500 in interest for the next 3 years. It'll be paid off in 20-24 months with how I pay bills. Now if I can get Sallie Mae bitch ass off my back. Them fuckers like vultures wasn't even out of college for half a year and they came knocking for payment. Plan on having those paid off in the next 5 years. By that time, I should have a nice down payment for some property I want.

+You can get your credit score checked for free once a year at the 3 major companys. Experian, Transunion and whatever the last one is.

+Average American credit score is like under 600, very poor. It's not life or death but if you want to rent an apartment, get a loan, house or even a job, it'll really matter.

+Having no credit score or a low one isn't always bad (because people don't use a credit card) if you got the money to pay for things on time with cash.

You have to pay like $8 for the score itself....Equifax is the last one

@s_a_m_r_i_o

The other one is Equifax.

By the Fair Credit Reporting Act, requires each of the 3 to provide your credit report at your request.

Good credit does help to have. Depends if you have high risk or low risk. Some people are just like fuck it and don't pay their bills on time.

If I wouldn't have gotten my identity stolen, I wouldn't know as much as I do know about credit.

I notice that people with bad credit is more behavioral than anything. Very few people get into bad debt because of emergencies. Its the perfect way of living above your means.

fuck a credit score, b.

all my credit cards paid off, sallie mae happy, only real debt i have is the new whip i bought. coppin my house summer 2014 and i still wont give a fuck about my credit score.

cash is king.

@jee504 You have any idea how your credit was stolen and how you found out about it?

I was registered with Debix years ago because it was something about someone stolen a computer from the police and it had people's credit info on it. I never paid for any type of identity protection. I check my bank accounts often, shred up all credit card offers plus don't co-sign for nobody. Whenever my bank calls and ask about any offers or promotions, I hang up on them.

@s_a_m_r_i_o

When I started my student loan payments through Sallie Mae, I started checking up on my credit. I wasn't educated on the pitfalls of getting a credit card. So I got a couple, with the notion of my parents telling me that they would pay the bill. I should of known better.

I knew eventually I would have to pay them back. Got a copy of my reports and saw my credit cards on there. But I saw some other accounts on there, that were from out of state. From talking to family members and piecing the areas together, my dad was the one using my social security number. He was smart with it though. I'm a junior and he is a senior. If you're a senior, you're not required to put senior as a suffix. I am required to since I'm a junior. So they play was this, he uses his name, his birth date but my social security number.

Once he defaults on an account, it goes to my credit report. Contacted the businesses to explain what happened and they literally laughed saying "How could your dad use your number? You're lying. You just don't want to pay on your account." That's when I educated myself on credit and everything about it. I've seen the worst of collection agencies whether it be threatening to garnish my wages or do physical harm. After years of fighting, my credit is where it needs to be. I have a fraud alert on my account so if anybody tries to run my credit I get called first. It just doesn't help with utility accounts, bank accounts, cable accounts, because they only keep your social security number on file not for running credit.

All 3 bureaus are over btwn 710 and 740... that's how you know the credit reporting is a scam... but fuck it I pay my bills on time or early...

I got caught out there on Identity theft in 2006... started getting all that shit right about 2 years ago... went from 810 in 2005 to 540 in 2006 (because of the ID theft) to 700 range today...

If you have fucked up shit on your credit report... dispute EVERYTHING! A lot of debt collectors will just let it slide.. just dispute, dispute, dispute!
