I got respect for the old XJ jags.
Jaguars are nice but I don't have a reason to put them above any other in their class?
Technology? For that kind of $ other options crush them
Performance? nah. But that XK exhaust sounds beautiful
Reliability? Nah
Think its mostly for people who are locked into the British heritage from before
the xkr/s has a 5 year warranty, its no more less reliable then the aston, the astons steering rumbles like fck when reversing or stationary, and you cant see shit out the front or rear window, but they are both basically built on the same chassis (like the vw toureg, porsche caynne and audi q8) i was disappointed with the db9 handling, but its more of a grand tourer then a sports card, it eats up motorways, but you cant chuck it around a country round like a 997 c4s or turbo...
i wanna get a c4s cabriolet when my insurance is up, and hopefully they dont gimme some stupid quote, as i had 2 big claims this year...
even the vw pheeton w12 was a test bed and basically same platform as the bentley continental... the pheeton is one of the biggest value you can get for a car...
these days, most car company are owned by eachother
Yeah I def feel you. Never driven an Aston. But you def see the similarities between the prev Gen XK and DB#
That same 5.0 supercharged V8 Land Rover and Jaguar::not a coincidence.
My neighbor has a black Phaeton, Highly slept on.
I'm in the same boat as you... I like my G37 It's a "GT" as well but it fun to whip it, got the coil-overs so it hugs the road. That would make my next move Audi S5 or M3
BUT, I like the big coupe: 650i more luxury.. Tough, tough choice. ha
very much slept on, even doe its build under bentleys underpinnings, nobody gonna pay 70+ for big body VW @ that price, when they can cop a weaker car with a better badge, it funny how people think,
That thinking, especially in America, is the reason we have Acura (Honda), Lexus (Toyota) and Infiniti (Nissan).
Back in 84/85, Honda did focus groups and introduces the Honda Legend to a US Group. The people in the focus group liked the car but stated that they'd NEVER pay $25,000 for a Honda. So Honda re-badged the car as Acura and returned to a focus group the the "ACURA LEGEND". They created a brand story for 'Acura' and the focus groups LOVED it and stated that they'd gladly pay $25K for the same car. SMH. Toyota and Nissan soon followed.
