IDGAF what nobody says.... There is no way to successfully market the name Pelicans in the NBA. It's the name of a 1920s baseball team. It's weak. It's also obvious they let Benson choose by himself instead of hiring a marketing team to come up with something creative and exciting that also has a connection to NO.

The only saving grace in this is that the NBA has to have final approval on the name change.d if the Board of Governors feel like they wont make money marketing the merchandise not only locally but globally...they nix it. They did it when the Grizz moved to Memphis and they wanted to change to the Memphis Express...
