A North Carolina man was arrested Sunday after he walked into a popular pizza restaurant in Northwest Washington carrying an assault rifle and fired one or more shots, D.C. police said. The man told police he had come to the restaurant to “self-investigate” a false election-related conspiracy theory involving Hillary Clinton that spread online during her presidential campaign.

The incident caused panic, with several businesses going into lockdown as police swarmed the neighborhood after receiving the call shortly before 3 p.m.

Police said 28-year-old Edgar Maddison Welch, of Salisbury, N.C., walked in the front door of Comet Ping Pong and pointed a firearm in the direction of a restaurant employee. The employee was able to flee and notify police. Police said Welch proceeded to discharge the rifle inside the restaurant; they think that all other occupants had fled when Welch began shooting.

Welch has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. Police said there were no reported injuries.

Let me shed a little light on the background on this "pizzagate" shit since I've been following it since its infancy on reddit.

First my objective opinion on the whole thing: There's a lot of circumstantial evidence in the Podesta leaks that came forth that these so called self investigators have taken and run with. While there's definitely some creepy shit contained within those emails I do not think there's anything there concrete enough to start pointing fingers at anyone just yet. Having said that I don't see anything wrong with ppl investigating this thing. Especially if there may be childrens lives at stake I think its worth looking into.

I hope none of this true but if you've delved into any sort of alternative media over the years then you know about other instances of pedo activity among the elites, so I'm not quick to call it "fake news"(a phrase which the media has coined over the past few weeks and has parroted ad naseaum) either. I hope those self investigators keep digging and hopefully this thing can come to a conclusion either way because we damn sure cannot rely on corporate media to give us anything of substance.

No one in the MSM has stepped up to do their job which is supposed to be investigative journalism, a true lost art today. All I've seen is "well this is fake news", but why? What actual investigating has been done? I mean at least make it look like you looked into it. All they keep saying "don't look over here, nothing to see here" and with a person a cynical as myself that makes me think I should look more. Anddddd while im on the subject of fake news no one in the MSM can say that without looking super hypocritical. I saw a report with Brian Williams of all ppl the other day calling this "fake news". Really???? Fake news when they lied and sensationalized numerous "facts" during this past election cycle? When they already put Hillary in the white house and had egg on their face when it didnt happen, im supposed to trust anything they say? Which leads me to......
