Gimmicks:

Nicki Minaj - Harakjuku Barbie and faux-British accents/voices

Eminem - Big-Bird-from-Sesame-Street yelling with a high pitched voice and Ken Kaniff

you have to entertain, you got to be diffen't thats why nikki is killing the game right now, its why eminem sells records

The fate of Nicki Minaj's album will be tested this week.

& the Slim Shady LP is a classic. But Noo waaay in hell does Pink Friday compare SMH.

SSLP is a classic depending on who you ask. I think it's a good/great album, but no neccessarily classic... and I place Infinite and MMLP in the category of classics. That's not to say SSLP didn't have some classic songs, but as an album, it falls short a bit.

Try not to let nostalgia stop you from comparing these two unlikely albums.

True, but many see it as 'extra' and 'uneccessary.

I just outlined the similarities in the initial post.

Pinky friday might outsell sslp first week numbers.

SSLP debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart behind TLC's FanMail with 283,000 copies sold in its opening week. You might have a point.

This THE MOSt Bullshit comparison in the history of rap. GTFOH

Why? I'm giving you the platform to elaborate, so go ahead and give me a good reason why these two albums shouldn't be compared. Hopefully, your argument isn't that SSLP is simply beyond comparison because that's a copout.

Slim Shady LP was a childish ass album in my opinion. Most of the songs was about silly shit but he got a past because of his lyrical skills and his delivery

I agree, which is what makes this comparison not only valid, but interesting as well.

i know, but i dont really see that as being that similar. the themes are not similar, the gimicks are not similar, demographics arent similar, none of it really compares well imo. they are two completely different albums from two completely different artists released in two completely different times. all they have in common is that they are rap albums.

And that's not enough for you to be able to compare which is better? I think the mere fact that the two are comparible at all says alot about both artists, for better or worse.
