Nah, network security. Eyes and ears of the network and the only cat here that specializes in wireless security (and forensics).

This idiot had the shit in a jack in one of the conference rooms directly next to his area. I found it, unplugged it, and sat in the conference room and waited for him to come in to see what was wrong. HR rep was sittin next to me when dude walked in and he saw the router on the table in front of us. Dude paused when he came through the door like "shit..."

HR is talking to his manager now.

Shit prolly wouldn't have happened if his Craigslist activity didn't show up in a random audit of that network. Don't be out there looking for random broads to smash at lunch on our network. Do that shit from your phone or something.

people think they being slick when they bring a router from home....little do they know that they are introducing a major security flaw to the network. we used to play xbox live at work & circumvent the firewall rules & what not. a year after i left, the admin found the router and SPAZZED on the folks that still worked there.

At my last gig I swear I sent the techs out dozens of times at our remote sites to snatch up routers. They even made a sport out of it. One site's IT manager would give gift cards to the tech that found the most each month.
