Here's some real advice:

You're better off targeting a specific job or job-type that you want, then going to community college at night and taking the courses that'll help you get that job or get you in a specific company...while you work any where during the day.

That is, unless you're just leaving high school, in which case you should be attending full-time.

The only time you should be considering a for-profit private post-secondary education is if the program you're doing requires a professional certification exam at the end that can tangibly place you among the people you're actually competing with for jobs.

An Arts degree or sociology degree from University of Phoenix is a notch below doing the OpenCourseware from Harvard or Yale, etc. And at least with OpenCourseware, you can do that as you please, not pay for it, and at least have the pride of knowing you've attempted the same stuff they teach at the Ivy Leagues.

My friend goes to ITT Tech, I have had friends attend Kaplan, Everest, community colleges an universities of all those the ones who went to a traditional university are doing better but this is anecdotal evidence and in no way a generalized feeling I have.

I myself went to a traditional 4 year university as well so I guess I'm partial.

I am suspicious of any school that makes you pay to take classes but credits don't transfer anywhere else. For instance ITT Tech, Kaplan, etc.
