I'm a big Pete Rock fan...But he's actin' like a bitter, out of fashion, attention seekin' prick...TROY is a true hip-hop classic...but classics get sample in hip-hop all the time...Michael Jackson...Aerosmith...Marvin Gaye...Queen...Prince

Nigga actin' like he's Beethoven and someone ripped off Fur Elise

yea troy was a sample and i remember cl smooth going in on artist who wouldnt allow their music to be sampled on Straighten it out....I realize that t.r.o.y meant a lot to pete but i couldnt agree with what he was first saying

t.r.o.y. was a tribute to trouble t roy, dude fell off a balcony or something, freak accident. so the song and what it represents holds mad weight not just for him, but for all hip hop heads. so i can see why pete would be pissed

The lesson for any grown man on twitter or off twitter is to talk to the dude your upset with before your rant and rave. And if you are truly upset with someone or something release one statement after you had a chance to collect your thoughts. Pete rock is one of the GOATS when it comes to producers but he was in bitch nigga mode with the numerous rants. Like we know you mad but why you have 3 different posts about the same issue and shit?

The key again being talk to the person you mad or upset at. One thing i never get about twitter is people be mad at niggas but tell 3 million followers about the shit instead of talking to that person man to man. In this day and age its not hard to reach out to other famous people in the same industry or even different industries.

And this yet again proves to me why I only check trends and celebs on twitter and don't have my own account. The reason being because all you need is 2 seconds and a phone to publish shit to the entire world. So your rep can be ruined in 2 secs after a post you make when youve had a few drinks or are high or are just pissed off like pete rock. The downside of twitter outweights the upside when you use it for your rep.

Good to see they handled it like adults.

At the people in this thread bitching about Pete Rock saying what was on his mind, STFU. Stop super-analyzing everything these guys do. There was nothing wrong with the way Pete Rock handled the shit over twitter.

its not super analyzing it its called being a grown man and talking to lupe before you talk to millions of followers. If you hear your homie did some shit you gunna talk to him first or talk to everyone but him. If word on the street is a distant friend of associate did your wrong you gunna ask them or just run up and beat the shit outta them? Part of being a grown man is talking to the problem or source before bitching and whinning publicly .

gave Lupe's version a few spins today. It's not bad. It's not coming close to the original.

When you try out a classic you gotta go harder
