I see where you are coming from and I have to agree she is smart and may be that breakout female to play her position fully and not fall off...

She'll probably be OK for the time being. She'll stay hot just as long as Young Money is hot. No matter what kind of talent she has it's all going to come down to the success of Young Money as a whole and how long they can keep it going. If the flame ever goes out not only will she struggle but everyone over there will.

One thing the threadstarer said though is that Lil' Wayne wrote songs for her, the same as what happened with Lil' Kim (Biggie) and Foxy Brown (Jay-Z, Nas). So it's pretty logical to believe if she loses Wayne as a ghostwriter or something happens where she's off Young Money, her career is going to fall off like Kim's and Foxy's did.

She's not that good at all. She's just benefiting off being on a big name label with two big names who happen to be not that good either. That being said, I wonder how she'll separate herself from the millions of other unfocused, random, punchline rappers that are in the game right now (she really hasn't and her cyphers were trash). I wonder how she'll benefit if Young Money epically fails this year. With Wayne in jail and that abortion of an album Rebirth already on Young Money's mantle for early 2010, the pressure for her and Drake to do well is on. So I can see her getting small success, but she could be the Olivia of this faction and Drake could wind up being the Tony Yayo and we all know how well their careers went

You say she is no good, but in that cypher she shitted on everyone except Budden. Even Buckshot came with some weak shit and she killed him.

Disagree. Her cypher was more of the same Nicki we got from the mixtapes; random, unfocused, off-topic, annoying flow, annoying tone accompanied by cumbersome and ultimately unimpressive punchlines and an overall mediocre topic which appeals to the current demographic of hip-hop which unfortunately isn't MY demographic. Sorry, Nicki is just not that good. And yes, there were plenty in that cypher who didn't come strong, but they're still better than Nicki at the end of the day.

If hers was that bad, then the rest of them must have been shitty, because the same negative comments you're saying about her "random, unfocused, off-topic,, annoying tone accompanied by cumbersome and ultimately unimpressive punchlines and an overall mediocre topic" could be said for everyone. Thats why they were freestyling, its not suppose to have any particular topic if you dont want it too. The point is to show your skills and if you thought hers was bad, then i feel bad for how you thought them other bumass niggas did.

Yes, but it was a terrible freestyle with no real zing and her voice and flow were extremely irritating. Furthermore, I judged her by other things I've heard her on outside of the cyphers (like I said earlier, reading is fundamental by the way) and she's just not that good at all. Nothing will convince me otherwise until she releases some quality material. And actually, that can't be said for everyone. There are specific things I look for when reviewing anything (I'd know, since I reviewed music for a while and have been HERE forever), so the whole "you can say that about anyone" argument doesn't cut it with me.
