The idea of this thread was to say that you dont like to rap over Outkast beats. That wouldve been acceptable, but when you start to question their legitimacy as one of the greatest groups of all time just because your flow cant match up with their beats, that's when us Outkast fans have an issue.

If you would've had fact to support you basically calling them overrated, then it wouldve made more sense.

Many people here on the reason use this same argument to question Nas's legitmacy as an MC. Nas chooses whack and boring beats. It's one persons opinion. What's the big deal?

Truth be told, i'm not really trying to knock the T/S, I want her to prove me wrong a spit over a outkast beat...if she can. I'm not the one saying her opinion is stupid or ignorant.

U highlight the sarcasm but ignore it... how much sense does that make?

Nope, that was my mistake.

But anyway, why are you overlooking people questioning your rapping ability. I'd like to see if you could spit over an outkast beat.

I mean seriously, I know girls like attention so they make "Shock threads".

Organized Noise are fucking legends, their sound carried the South during the lean years

I think its irresponsible-ignorance for a chick to say that the greatest sothern production team of all-time make "trash" beats.

Somebody should slap this chick across the mouth with "Southerplayalisticcadillacmuzik" or "Soul Food".

Your opinion goes against common sense, but its no surprise coming from a New Yorker.

Have you actually heard the beats that YOU rap over??

I'm a New Yorker and l love those Outkast beats. Don't generalize.

t/s is entitled to her opinion but to say that most of their beats is trash is real dumb to say. I can respect that you cant vibe to their beats or whatnot but I cant respect your opinion if you're gonna just label their beats as trash. they have some of the best, creative, original beats out. shiiii...raekwon flowed hella smooth on that "skew it on the bar b" instrumental. U tellin me you cant vibe to beats like "gangsta shit" "slums" "benz or beamer" "playas ball remix" "wheelz of steel"

well outkast has their own unique sound, so maybe ur not into their sound

question, t/s, list 5 joints off the top right now, that in your opinion, are hot beats? and im not sayin the top 5 beats of all time, just 5 hot beats from a joint that most of us would know of

They're dull... And alot of them sound dated... Like i could put on on Can I Live from Jay now and it dont sound like 1996.... And how am i hatin? i still said they were legends right?

Ok the claim this thread is based on is a little out there, but everyone's entitled to their opinion so I wasn't going to knock you for it. But come on, it's clear you just hating now. How you gonna say that song doesn't sound like some typical mid 90s shit? You seriously gonna try and argue that a Reasonable Doubt beat sounds less time period oriented than Outkast beats do? You just on some typical NY bullshit now. You can say what you want, but whether you like them or not you have to admit that Outkast's music has always been different than the status quo.

Don't mind her yall. TS has what we call "no soul"... Her favorite rapper is Joe Buddens. His beats are way nice than Kast right. Organized Noize are just bums... Funk isn't one of the most influential genres on hip hop... George Clinton just gives Kast the cosign for no reason.... Being creative is bad.

I was gonna say this but I know Jay-z had 2 versions of Can I Live on the reasonable doubt album and one of them revived in 2000s when Ashanti made "Rain on Me" so i know what t/s was referring too and the same for "dead presidents" cuz mary j blige revived that one as well. the other can i live version has 1996 written all over it....

etc....

Maybe YOU just need to learn that you don't just rap over beats but in order to be a full musician you need to have the ability to craft a song... which there is no one better than Outkast at.

interesting take on their beats. one of the first ive ever heard. to each his own i guess, but i personally love their production. not only for the fact that organized noise played their own instruments, but also some of the tracks produced by earthtone were spaced out and forward thinking. i prefer that over the typical bland, cut and paste, boom-bap production. so really, i think it all just boils down to preference
