A JLA film would be alot better than an Avengers film.

I do like Bruce Banner and Tony Stark though.

You think Tony Stark is a rip-off of Bruce Wayne.

Everyone is a rip-off of somebody. Bruce Waye/Tony Stark. Plastic Man/Reed Richards. Green Arrow/Hawkeye. Giant Man/Apache Chief.

But Bruce Wayne is the perfect detective while Stark has health issues and alcohol addiction.

Thats where we differ. I prefer the more "down to earth" approach that Marvel uses instead of the perfection DC does. But it comes down to what you are looking for. And Batman 89 was a classic, but since then DC has only had one gem which was The Dark Knight and that was due to the Joker's character and not Batman's.

and what gems have Marvel given us? i can't think of a single movie that was truly great or has classic potential. yea movies like Spiderman and Iron Man were entertaining but they were still cliche and nothing really great. we all thought the X-Men movies were decent when they came out but looking back they're actually pretty terrible. Superman, Batman '89, Batman Returns, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and Watchmen are all movies that are on a level of quality filmmaking Marvel has yet to even touch. going back to my point though it's because Marvel is always trying to appease and appeal to everyone. with movies like Batman Returns and Watchmen it's clear that DC would rather make a great artistic film then try and reach the widest audience possible. also there are other great films out there that are based on DC comics people tend to overlook like Constantine, V For Vendetta, A History of Violence and Road to Perdition.

Spiderman > Batman and Superman

if youre going by the numbers and how much money the movies have made, I believe spiderman beats both

yeah but Batman and Superman are the #1 and # 2 superheros ever. Just by their logos alone, who doesn't recognize the bat symbol or the red/yellow/blue superman emblem ?...that shit's iconic like the swoosh

This....Supes and Bats are global icons whose symbols are recognized the world over by people from all walks of life. The only Marvel character that can compete on those terms would be Spidey.

True, good points.

I hate how corny they make spiderman.

it all comes down to preference of how u like ur stories.think of DC as Greek mythology with its gods, heroes, etc. and Marvel as Shakespeare, with its flawed, pained characters.

however, its unfair to think that DCs heroes are perfect and Marvels are more human. Wolverine is a guy who basically cant be killed, how is that human? Spider-man had to make a deal with Satan to save his aunt from a bullet meant for him, how is that human? Superman, with all his powers, knows that he is alone in the world and despite his strength, simply cannot be there at all times hes needed. Batman, with all his money and gadgets, will never achieve what he wants more than anything, to bring back his dead parents. when u think of it that way, who sounds more human, DC or marvel?

oh, and Lois lane and jimmy olsen know both know clark is superman and lois has been married to superman for YEARS.

This comes back to what I said very early in the Thread. Back in the day when I was into comics, this was the case and what a lot of people complained about. Seems like DC listened.

if youre going by the numbers and how much money the movies have made, i believe spiderman beats both

batman movie gross: $1,520,709,473 (batman,batman return,batman forever,batman & robin,batman begins,dark knight)

spiderman movie gross: $ 1,113,614,571 (spider-man,spiderman 2,spiderman-3)

superman movies gross: $ 399,292,911 (superman,superman 2,superman 3 ,superman returns)

so batman>>>spider-man>>>>>>superman..... And i know thats 3 movies compared to 6 but remember in the 2000's ticket prices are higher than they were back in the 80's/90's so i say in reality spideys #'s are no where near batmans but he does have supermans number

Marvel overall is better than DC,but Batman is the SINGLE greatest entity that the Comic industry has ever produced.Arkham Asylum is also the best game based on a Comic book character.Batman has the best design, the best animated series and the best personality.Spider-Man is second.
