Never watched La La Land, but of all the clips I've seen the acting was not on par with those other movies. Even when they showed Ryan and Emma's clip for best actor/actress, I wasn't impressed, especially next to the other nominees.

Like I stated in my review for La La Land the last 15-20 minutes were the best sequence of the movie and for technical effort the opening sequence in the traffic jam...

Apart from that it's a pretty average movie

I got no beefs with Casey Affleck winning. He & Denzel both were great. Either of the 2 deserved it

Casey had one truly strong moment the whole movie, where he tried to kill himself in the police station. Outside of that he played a jerk who mumbled groaned and was just there. Denzel had multiple scenes that were incredible. I don't think it was close Denzel got robbed. Sad thing is I genuinely like Casey in most his roles.
