oh yea to answer da thread wasnt Cube gettin at Masta Ace alongside of common in westside slaughterhouse? niggaz was prolly tired of da East Coast always throwin shade

I think Cube stole the "W" from Kam and Watts. I'm sure Cube wanted to sell records, but I still don't think he was copying Pac's formula to diss and get paid from it.

Cube and many on the west had words for the east

i liked the music Cube made then, but he did kind of jump on pac's style and movement

The only thing is w/out Cube may not be a Pac and any west coast dude is highly influenced by NWA and Cube

I see what Pac was saying though

Considering 2pac dissing NY was just a gimmick in itself (considering Method Man was on AEOM) he had no right to monopolize a beef between coasts.

NY niggas were notorious for throwing jabs in magazines, critics (the people who wrote in these magazines) are also known for chucking shade out West during their run (Rolling Stone magazine, Nelson George even The fucking New York Times). Some of the instances have already been mentioned (E-40, Tim Dog etc) so this shit was bound to boil over.

The West was selling records, Ice Cube included so what would be the point of stealing 2pac's gimmick? Cube was already successful, 2pac had 2 successful albums B. Cube had at least 3 so what the fuck is the point of saying "cube was biting"?

Pac, as usual, was outta pocket. Niggas was riding for the West when that nigga was in Baltimore. Cats like DJ Quik, Spice 1, E-40, Too Short etc were doing their thing long before Pac came along. It wasn't about "throwing up W's" because they didn't need to. The first song the nigga Cube was heard on was "Straight Outta Compton"...surely niggas don't think Compton, NY.

Cats been reppin' and been catchin' hell from NY long before Pac signed to Death Row.

In a way I kinda see where Pac was coming from..........

I think it all started with shit like that Tim Dog "Fuck Compton" song...this was like in 1990-91 or some shit. This nigga whole album dissed west coast artist n some hating ass shit.

West Coast artist (Dr Dre, DJ Quik, MC Eiht, others) rode for the west for that shit, while at the same time Cube was doing tracks with NY producers etc.

Then later on, Cube (like '96) they come up with Westside Connection bow down, etc.

For real, listen to this hatin ass shit.

I "guess" Pacs whole outlook was like "where was you then"? Either that or he was just feeling his own success and thought Cube was bitin off Hit 'Em Up like he said...

U know wats funny about that???

Pac saved Tim Dog's life in Cali lol

Bet ya'll didn't know that

explain ?? and whats your point ? pac got back wu tang niggaz chain at 662

Lets be real, I'm a Pac and Cube fan and what Pac said made a little sense.

One - Cube went to NY to start his solo career and was cool with Public Enemy and Chuck D.

Two - when Pac got out of jail and signed with Death Row, Pac was the one screaming WESTSIDE and throwing up the W, I don't remember seeing Cube, Snoop or Dre doing that.

Three - Cube said something in a interview about how the east vs. west beef is not right and then he turns around and creates Westside Connection and goes at the East Coast?

That's what Pac meant by Cube swagger jackin, he wasn't doing any of this until Death Row went up against Bad Boy and the only East Coast beef I can remember Cube having was with Common.

I swore this thread was gonna be about the line where his momma telling him to procreate lol

Anyhow, allot of people out West seemed to have a problem with Ice Cube back then, and they all pretty much said the same types of things... Maybe their was some truth to em.

Nigga wasnt really a gangsta like that
shrug.gif
oh well, did you really think he was? I mean he got into acting pretty quick...

And on Pac, he played his role well, but its usually the guilty who do the accusing...

Both them niggas was kinda fu, but Pac was more about that life

pac was right tho.... Cube was quiet when it first pooped off then used it for promotion with Bow Down

yup

while Pac was doing movies showcasing L.A. & The Bay Area. Making music in L.A. & Bay Area, Cube was only repping Compton. Pac was trying to unite a state demographic and Cube wanted a part of that. But Cube ended up doing kiddy movies n shit so u see what kinda character he is.

here's one thing you guys don't get bout tim dogg and that wack-ass "fuck compton" song...

when he came out with that compton was basically modern day chicago status. even though the song was wack and outta left field... who amongst this generation of rappers would not only have the balls to make a song called "fuck chicago" but the continue to tour there and eventually settle down and live there?

i'll wait.
