I remember trying to put niggas on to Kdot when overly dedicated came out, then section 80....people either said he was wack or didnt even bother listening....but when swimming pools and GKMC came out, now all of a sudden niggas act like he walks on water and shit. those same albums I played before he blew up they acting like they classics now. I agree with that hypebeast thing ice said, I seen this shit off and on the net

People who say Cole raps about high school shit have never listened to Cole

I never understood that narrative. "Wet Dreams" fit within context of the album. Shit isn't hard to understand. Again one of those things folks just say to be "cool."

B/C THERE'S REALLY THAT MUCH MORE CONTENT OTHER THAN HOW HE CAME UP...

FAM IS MONOTONE & BORING AS SHIT BC THAT'S ALL THERE IS TO HIS MUSIC...

cant fib, the joke is funny but ion really remember getting the high school vibe from cole. guess its like niggas sayin krit only rap about cars. i get the college and strugglin with sallie mae shit, but its cool cuz i kno that skruggle. his albums simply have no replay value for me.

For y'all saying that Cole can only rap about HS shit (he don't) and can't relate to it.

But y'all listen to BIG and 50 and can relate to their content.

Y'all niggas fake gangstas

I NEVER SAID I CAN'T RELATE TO IT. I JUST SAID ITS BORING & MONOTONE...

I DON'T CARE FOR RELATABLE CONTENT...

THE WHOLE CONCEPT ABOUT RELATABLE MUSIC = GOOD MUSIC IS OVERRATED

Well if you didn't say that

Why the hell you responding to my post

Kdot has probably been the most consistent, but out of the four J. Cole is the most versatile and we'll rounded MC...

His music can be introspective, thought provoking and soulful ..."Chaining Day", "Apparently", "Breakdown", "Before I'm Gone", "Be Free", "Note to Self"

He's a good storyteller "Lights Please", "Lost Ones", "Crunch Time"

You want something raw he can rap with the best of em..."Fire Squad", "Premeditated Murder", "Kenny Lofton", "Villuminati"

Even when he's bullshiting, at his worst, he's far from trash..."Work Out", “Mr. Nice Watch”, "Can't Get Enough"

And his music is the most relatable. He's not trying to be something he's not ... he can be ambitious but at the same time he knows his lane

I really don't understand the hate

Has he put together a "classic" album maybe not...and like Nas he doesn't have the best ear for beats

But otherwise he has a dope music catalog

With that said, Big Krit for me is too one dimensional and the least versatile
