From what I read, the earthquake is coming and when it does there are two possibilities. Either the whole Pacific Northwest will be screwed or it will be fucked. There is a 1 in 3 chance of it just being screwed in the next 50 years. There is a 1 in 10 chance of it being completely fucked in the next 50 years.

The bigger issue is not that earthquake on the westcoast. Yellowstone national park sits on top of the world's largest volcano. If it was to blow it most of America would be destroyed.

I saw a report like that... But that doesn't make sense....

Why put that out! Is it imminent or not? Did they give a three day warning?

50 years is probably as far down as they can narrow it. Remember, we're talking about processes that take hundreds and thousands of years to happen, so them being able to narrow it down to 50 years is good.

Earthquakes aren't hurricanes. You don't get a three day warning. The closest thing you'd get to a warning like that is a rise in smaller earthquakes right before the big one comes.

It's not really fear mongering though. This shit has been known to the scientific community for a few years now. It's just that a major newspaper recently took notice and now people are starting to talk about it.
