I dont know what it is....

But black men born before 1965 ALL refer to their homies as "my cat" or "my pahtna".

In the south, dudes still say "cat" every now and again, now Cat Daddy is another story. lol

But potnah/pahtna gets used daily damn near as in "Aight then potnah" or "My potnah'nem" (as in my friends) (plural)).

I definitely know this to be more of an Atlanta/Georgia thing, but just to specify, don't ever say he's my PARTNER (jus as it is actually pronounced) b/c that probably means your gay.

So potnah/pahtna = homeboy.... partner = queer/boyfriend . LoL

Is it just me, or did u notice the usage of the phrase "Peace Out", skyrocketed amongst white people, after The Fresh Prince of Bel Air blew up?.......and somehow, they still manage to use the phrase wrong.

Anybody still say "Shooting The Gift"?....I think we should bring it back, and give it a new meaning, like it could be something u say after getting some pussy.

swanging - "damn them wings was swanging". this phrase was usually followed by a lot of smacking and immediate finger licking

straightening - when 2 dudes were about to fight. We bout to get some "straightening" round this bitch. "straighten yours fuck n!gg@"

rolling - selling dope

hype - damn that party was "hype"

badonkadonk

getting buck

"holla at me 'cause you know you know me"

turd cutter - "damn she got one hell of a turd cutter on her." i heard an old dude from florida say that shit and i didnt know wtf he he was talking about. i had 2 use to context clues to figure that shit out.

"godly or god lee" is an expression of excitement down in south florida from way back. we used to say that when we were kids. its like saying dang, golly, holy moly etc. i havent heard it in so many years until i heard an old head say it when a field reporter was interviewing him on the news.
