1. Eminem - has no talent, just blabs shit.

2. Dr Dre. - wants to be a thug, which has been played out by him since 87'.

3. Puff Daddy - another wannbe thug, which his money has got to his head.

4. Master P - made a couple of quality albums, but his wannabe drug / thug

mentality needs to go. And the beats are mad weak.

5. Silk - wannabe like his brotha

6. Juvenile - he made a couple good cds in the PAST. Not the latest shit!!

Nas and Jay-Z comparisons a couple YEARS before their beef --

Subject: Jay-Z better than Nas?(never)

People just began 2 respect Jay-Z after vol.2 because of its commercial edge
and publicity. Before this album I know alot of people that said he was garbage
now many think he's the best artist outhere. He has did nothing in his entire
career to be better than Nas. If u want 2 go by record sales or mics Illmatic(5
mics,gold)/ Reasonable Doubt(4 mics,Gold-until its re-release) It was
Written-(4mics 2x platinum)/ Vol.1-(4 mics,Gold-until this year)I am(4.5
mics,predicted 2 sale over 4mill)/ Vol 2.(4.5mics,4xplatinum)

But besides mic ratings and sales Nas is a street poet with the exception of
the I was Written album his music touches the heart(Project Window). Me
personally I can relate 2 nas more and can appreciate his maturity on I AM. Nas
2000 shows his versatility and consistence. Jay-Z a highly respected lyricist
up to Vol2 now is getting a unfair amount of attention because of his
commercial material, that does not make him a better artist. Even in Belly nas
portays someone you can be proud of, Streets is Watching is supposed to be real
but who knows????Many people dislike the Firm Album I feel that the first
couple songs and the last couple are excellent. Anyway all u jay-z fans
outhere, -HOLLA BACK-

Subject: Quit Dissin' Vanilla Ice

Reply to author | Forward | Print | Individual message | Show original | Report this message | Find messages by this author

I would have to say by now that just about everyone out there realizes that

Vanilla Ice is a fake, phony, *****, etc......

However, I'm gettin' sick of seein' people dis' him. Basically, people dis'

him because he's successful and their jealous.

1.> Ice, Ice Baby was No. 1 longer than any other rap song EVER

2.> He can dance probably better than most any other person out there

3.> He gets more girls than we can even imagine

4.> He's a professional water-skier/motorcycle racer

5.> He's worth millions......was on Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous

With all of these, people still choose to dis' him. Wake up!

"Vanilla Ice is sellin', and you people are buyin'........."

LOL. That was Shadyteam before Eminem came around.

This is by far the best thread I've ever read. This shit is crazy. Things are EXACTLY the same when it comes to hip hop message boards. Pac, Biggie, Jay & Nas (who are pretty much the Mt. Rushmore of hip hop nowadays) were getting just has much hate back then as Wayne, Drake and Nicki get today.

Backpackers can shut the fuck up now....they've never been happy with mainstream hip hop and this proves it LOL

Oct-3-2002

Brooklyn based rap star, Jay-Z astounded fans and foes alike when he announced his plans to sue rival rapper Nas for libelous comments made last year. The two artists had been feuding through out the later part of 2001. The battle culminated in Nas's release of the Stillmatic album and the song Ether, which made several references negatively portraying Jay-Z as a homosexual and threatening anti-gay violence. Homophobia and gay discrimination, which has ravaged hip-hop in recent years, will be a partial basis for the suit says Jay-Z's lawyer, Mathew Winters. In addition, Jay-Z is claiming career and lifestyle damage. From 98-2001, Soundscan and the Billboard Top 40 established Jay as the music industry's top rapper. But sales of his records and Rocawear clothing line were down almost 40% in 2002. Nas on the other hand has boasted increased publicity and platinum sales in the last year. Jay-Z's legal team is claiming that Nas not only intended to damage Jay's career but also to launch his own off defaming statements. The hip-hop world has already responded with shock. Haitian rapper/singer Wyclef Jean responded saying, "Battling is the essence of hip-hop, it's been its basis for years." He went on to say, "Hip-hop started with battles in the park. What [ Jay-Z ] is doing with his suit is ridiculous and is further [evidence] that hip-hop is dying as an art form". Ridiculous or not, Jay-Z's suit is unprecedented and will undoubtedly usher in a new era of lawsuits." Paul Vaugner Associated Press

No..........f**king.......way

Is that shit true???? If it is I dont know how it gets left out of the history books for the Nas/Jay battle as a major bitch move on Jay Z's part. Suing, or even considering suing for "libelous comments" and "career and lifestyle damage" in a rap battle??

I've been telling young cats this for years. Niggas want to act like the 90's was a Utopia and classics were being released every week. Aint nothing really changed, and in 10 years people going to be calling the Wayne's, Drake's, etc legends and the new cats of that time will get hated on.

Getwitcha

^^^the music was better though, you gotta admit that. Niggas in the 90s didn't realize how good they had it. I wish I was old enough back then to appreciate the music

It's funny them doing a top 10 rap albums of all-time in 1992. Some of the greatest rap albums of all-time weren't even created yet.
