Sports is more important than academics, this country shows that everyday.

Athletes makes far more than educators and even doctors or professors.

Hundreds of millions of dollars are put into stadiums while schools are left to fall apart and/or close.

Follow the money, it always shows you what's important.

That's entertainment period.

Y'all just don't know.

A lot of them dude already is D students. Teachers already be helping them out.

True but my point stands. We see where the money goes.

Nosign.

You might think that athletes make more than educators, doctors and professors, but there's only 450 players in the NBA, 1,696 players in the NFL, 690 players in the NHL and 750 players in Baseball. The odds of being a professional athlete are astronomical. Furthermore, the owners of those teams make more money than the players. The owners are lawyers and MBAs.

If you're a professional athlete and you score a $100 million contract that's great, but if you don't understand finance then you won't know how to invest your money. You'll end up trusting a stockbroker and he'll rip you off because he thinks your stupid.

We've all heard stories of professional athletes that played long careers and made it to the hall of fame who later filed for bankruptcy because after they retired they had no income and their financial advisors took everything.

If you plan on being a professional athlete the smartest thing you can do is major in finance. Because if you have a $100 Million contract nobody is going to "help" you invest it. You'll be surrounded by sharks and everybody will be looking for a handout.

There are a lot of bankrupt teachers too. A teacher would have to work two years to make what an athlete makes in about a month. Superstar athletes?

A teacher will never see that kind of money.

i never went to college or anything but isn't 1.0 really low? like i would expect that to be like you can just barely read and do basic math.

oh wait i just actually read the o/p. they lowered it? lmao.

we might as well bring back gladiator fights and call it a day.

Yeah but if you don't know how to invest it, you'll end up spending everything on cars, jewelry and lavish mansion. But as soon as you retire and those checks stop coming you'll be broke.

White liberals been doing this sh!t for 40+ years. We were upping our education standards, supporting HBCUs, scholarships, and about more opportunities throughout the movement of last century. Now our schools get scraps, we got teachers more concerned about transgender bathrooms than teaching algebra, and standards keep getting lower and lower. Marcus Garvey called this shit almost 100 years ago, and we still haven't learned.

When I was in school you had to pass 4 core classes with at least a C. That means math, history, science, English or a foreign language. You had to get at least Cs in 4 out of the 5 classes. Gym, art, etc. didn't count toward the 4 core class requirement.

That means if you took gym, art, music and shop you couldn't play sports.
