Human beings in a mob
What's a mob to a king?
What's a king to a God?
What's a God to a non-believer who don't believe in anything?
Will he make it out alive, alright, alright, no church in the wild
Only thing that seems to make it hard to understand is what is meant by "in the wild."

By "will he make it out alive" I take it that he's trying to paint a picture of the non-believer's existence in society amongst religious zealots or populations composed mostly of people who are religious in some way... and the backlash that may come his way as a result.

?????

Edit: Guess I can add Murder to Excellence in there although I skip it at times. I just think they dropped the ball lyrically on the excellence half. It could have been executed better but that's a very critical opinion. It does sound good i can't front.

In sheep skin coats, i silence the lamb (orghini), do you know who i am Clarice (Silence the Lamb movie referece about the serial killer who sewed together peoples skin)

Dominos, Dominos, only SPOT a few blacks the higher i go

"I stink of success, the new black elite

They say my Black Card bears the mark of the beast

I repeat: my religion is the beat

My verse is like church, my Jesus piece" - dope how he flipped the Illuminati and devil worshiper talk

Excellence is dope as fuck to me, Kanye even did his thing and put some feeling into his verse.

Besides The Joy (originally a G.O.O.D. Friday track), Murder to Excellence is my favorite song on WTT.

Whats a God to a non-believer?

Fuck is that about?

Pretty fucking obvious imo, it seems to be questioning peoples logic about what makes certain people good and bad,not everyone believes in the same shit, etc. From the verses i get that vibe, what you may believe doesn't mean shit to some one who grows up with a different belief system, it's all subjective.

But that's just me, i think some people get caught up in their own shit and try to force their dogma on others.

I know Tyler is public about his atheism but I didnt think his mans would be too..

Trust me, I get the hook, I get what he saying..

But was it necessary?

Almost goes against what your saying in your post, if that aint pushing atheism in peoples minds I dont know what to tell you..

I feel that and actually caught all that. What I was getting at was the way in which Excellence is mainly measured by opulence in Jay's eyes based on what he was saying. He starts it off by saying "black excellence" and all he does is speak of himself and the fact that he "only spots a few blacks the higher he goes," as if higher tax brackets and exclusive black tie gatherings are the end all be all indicators of one reaching excellence.

What is he suppose to rap about, being a aerospace egineer, he can only rap about his experiences. I don't get why people knock people for their pov's, and expect them to fit in a box and view you have, you should know by now Jay-z raps about himself at this point. He maybe shallow by some peoples pov, but atleast he stays honest about what he lives and true to himself and isn't pandering to people.

True true that is Jay and I understand what you 2 are saying which is why I mentioned my opinion being very critical in the post before that one. Point taken.

Meh album was AIGHT. I kept New Day, Primetime, Welcome to the Jungle, Illest Mfer Alive, Gotta Have It, and Murder to Excellence. The rest of the shit got trashed(I did like Niggas in Paris at first but it got a lil corny to me). This is not a bad album at all, I still play the tracks above at least once a day. Wale and Ross albums gonna be better though.
