If early numbers are an accurate indicator then 'Watch The Throne' is a smashing success.

The debut album from The Throne (Jay-Z and Kanye West) is on pace to move between 400,000-500,000 copies in it's 1st week. Those sales would make the album 2nd in first week sales only to Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way,' which moved 1.1 million units out of the gate according to Billboard

The album is being sold exclusively through iTunes, and won't be available to all other retail outlets until August 12.

Not bad for an album nobody knew was coming less than a year ago.

And bumpin illest mf alive in the car will have women ready to fuck you

I swear to God

Yea 13 out of 16 is 81.2% which is an A - which = 5 MICS

Thriller is a classic and baby be mine sucks to me

Word I HATE that song

And it was supposed to be the 1st single thankfully they scrapped that idea

81% is not an A...and when did people start giving out percentage grades for albums now? it's that serious?

And the thing is lady gaga sold thousands of albums for 1.99 on amazon and those counted as sales (which is kind of cheating). At the same time Jay and Ye are giving free digital copies to anyone buying or have bought tickets to their tour. But then again the fact that tickets for the worse seats start at $70 and lower level tickets at almost every venue start around $200 and can go past $300 (for vip) i guess you should get a WTT album download.

The other slept on thing is even if this album does 200,000K not only would it be the best seller of the summer but it would be amaizing that just digital only you could sell that much. The fact that a larger chunk of people still buy copies at stores is slept on...especally since this album cover is supposed to be pretty pimped out.

The Reason is like Fox vs MSNBC over this album. A bit of truth and a lot of bias. I'll give my unbiased opinion.

- If you are a Stan, love swag, or don't listen to music outside of the radio you will probably rate it 4.5+
- If you are a hater, you will hate this album.

The album sounds like a Ye inspired album featuring Jay.
Ye was the better mc on the album.

The album to me is a 3/5. Nothing more. If I wasn't on my phone I would explain more.

Same people that love this album probably thought bp3 was album of the year.

My 3 cents:

-Tracks 5-12 are pure (except the God awful end to 'Who Gon Stop Me')

-Tracks 1-4 are alll ehhh

-Jay-Z lyrically mailed it in on about 3/4 of the album...smmfh

-This basically should be a Kanye album with Jay feat. on 4 or 5 songs

-That Rza song is proof that Kanye's new 'sound' is ok, but SOUL music, when perfected, can not be fuked with

New Day>>>>>>>rest of the album

All in all, its a good album...4 mics

yeah I wasn't coming into this album thinking it was gonna be the greatest shit ever, but Gotta Have It, Who Gon Stop Me (minus the beat change) and Murder to Excellence have been on repeat. I'm not a huge fan of these niggas, but this is a pretty good musical project. Lots of progression.

My only problem is Gotta Have It should have been 4 minutes long, and the beat shouldn't have changed on Who Gon Stop Me.

I gave this album a 6 at first, now a few other songs are growing on me so I'm giving it a strong 7/10...

LOL, "LIFT OFF" is the 3rd Single. I knew it, you got Hov, Ye and Beyonce you know that's song is going to be all over the radio and the video will get play also. I personally think "Niggas in Paris" should of been the next single. But here's what I think will happen:

H.A.M.
Otis
Lift Off
Niggas in Paris
Why I Love You

Those are the most commercially viable singles.

"I'm Liable to go Michael, take your Pick, Jackson, Tyson, Jordan, in game 6" (Niggas in Paris)

"A million more to go, Kick in the Door, Biggie flow" (Murder for Excellence)
