Great Album . Greatest Hip Hop album ever , hell no . But people need to just enjoy the album for what it is , which is a great album that will lift Hip Hop music . Yes Kanye made the album. However Jay was far from wack. Fans always complain about artist not being innovative but as soon as we get a album that is fans hate . Hip Hop fans are super critical and most are just pure haters for shit they dont enjoy. Kanye may be the most important Hip Hop ARTIST ever . If its not your cup of tea , I can respect that. But calling it wack shows a lack of musical knowledge. This album however does show the difference between a great rapper ( Jay-Z ) and a great artist ( Kanye ). Kanye has the vision and the talent to make that vision a reality . Jay-Z is the GOAT rapper . But he cant hold a candle to what Kanye offers musically .

The same excuses people were making for BP3 are being made for this album ' Its not about the lyrics its about the music' 'Ya'll niggas can't feel it cause your taste ain't broad enough' 'They weren't trying to make a great Rap album, they were trying to make a great album in Music' and so on and so on.

this IS flashiness though. both sides of this argument need to stop frontin'.

they not telling me to go shoot niggas and sell drugs

but they not telling me to help my brother or clean up my community or gain knowledge of self either

they're telling me to aspire to be rich, and how to be rich. plain and simple. black capitalism

man they arent really tellin u how to get rich. they are braggin about their lifestyle since they became rich. pretty much what everyone else is doing just over great production and reputation since they are great artist.

What the fuck are you talking about.

Your last sentence makes sense but not in relation to this album, what vision did Kanye make a reality, this album is sub par compared to many of Jiggas albums. Reasonable Doubt and Black Album>>>>>>>

And fans complain abut rappers not being innovative yes, but you must understand that many woill not simply start applauding an album cause its different, if your going to try fgo left field and being innovative make sure you execute that shit, because there is a fine line between Insanity and Genius.

MBDTF was cohesively just a better piece of work period, the hooks the production and even the rapping were on a different level to this album. MBDTF sounded like Kanye actually tried to put a great album together, this album sounds like a mixtape of various tracks Kanye and Jay have made in the last few years.

I would rate MBDTF 4/5 and this 3/5.

Kanye was pressed to make this album . This was like a life long dream to that cat. To Jay is was just another album . Jay-Z and Kanye are to the level where u can only compare their albums to their albums. Thats says alot to their greatness . As far as executing the innovation , thats a matter of opinion . I have heard arguments on both sides . You have your right to think they feel short . But what i am sayin just say hey I didnt like it , it wasnt my thing . But I just think fans , Hip Hop fans are so critical . And most ( not all ) have very little knowledge of music as a whole for their opinions to even be respected .

'Watch the Throne' Now Projected to Top 500,000 in First Week
by Keith Caulfield, L.A. | August 09, 2011 12:24 EDT

With a full day's worth of sales under its belt, Jay-Z & Kanye West's new "Watch the Throne" album is projected to sell over 500,000 copies in its first week in the U.S., according to industry sources. That's above initial estimates yesterday, where prognosticators placed the set's debut week sales somewhere in the range of 400,000 - 500,000 copies.

The dynamic duo's album was released exclusively via Apple's iTunes Store yesterday, Aug. 8.

The album is on track to become the second-largest sales week of the year, behind Lady Gaga's 1.1 million opener for "Born This Way."

"Watch" will easily top the Billboard 200 chart next week (which will be revealed on Aug. 17), unless something completely unexpected happens. The album will mark the 12th No. 1 album for Jay-Z and the fifth for West. Jay has previously topped the list with two other collaborative albums: "MTV Ultimate Mash-Ups Presents: Collision Course" with Linkin Park, and "Unfinished Business" with R. Kelly.

"Watch the Throne," which incredibly didn't leak to the Web as so many eagerly-awaited albums have over the years, is exclusive to iTunes until Friday, Aug. 12. That's when all other retailers -- physical and digital -- will start selling "Watch." Of course, most brick-and-mortar retailers could opt to ignore the official street date and begin selling the CD as soon as they receive it, which may be as early as Wednesday.

Best Buy has the exclusive deluxe physical CD edition of the set from Aug. 12-22, which sports the same four additional songs as on iTunes' deluxe version. These exclusives have angered many retailers who were excluded from the promotions.

Predicting "Throne's" first week is tricky because of its unique release rollout. Traditionally, albums drop to all retailers on Tuesdays. However, "Throne" secured a Monday street date -- but only through iTunes. So, its first four days of release will consist mostly of sales via Apple (with physical street-date violation sales mixed in), while the remaining three days of its first week will be a blend of physical and digital.

Thus, because of the unusual nature of "Throne's" release, stay tuned through the week for further news on its first-week sales pace.

so there are as many 'european' samples as there are 'black' samples on this album.
oh.
ok.

WTF is a "Black sample"?

....and since when did HipHop albums from America have a quarter of their songs sampled from Euro-pop??

So now niggas need to have african drums and tribal singing and shit on every track? Regardless of what samples are used this album compaired to the rest of mainstream hip hop goes deeper than most. And yes the album is good and decent (nothing out of this world) but its better than most of the superfical hip hop music thats out there. Word to wayne's last 2 albums being more pop than a disney channel movie album and shit. Word to drakes latest music being so auto tuned a computer should just perform at his concert. Word to Big Sean and Wiz having rice krispy ass singles that snap crackle and pop. WTT at least had a few lines addressing issues like crime, raising a kid etc. You not gunna find any of that shit the ferrari boyz album.
