Opened my eyes as to what they maybe trying to do with Roc Nation as a label. Could be ahead of the next movement in which more concious MC's are accepted as mainstream. He speaks of a lane for adult hiphop and with the artist on the label now I could see how they fit the mold of regular real life adult hiphop. I can see how Lupe would be their next sign soon as his deal is over. He talks about the the artist such as Jay E having creative freedom and not having to make pop recods. hmmm a label where the artist is not created. I hope they are leading the way on the possible future of mainstream hiphop.

Both videos are filled with great info.

Easily one of the most important videos I have ever seen. Its given me faith that there is a knowledgable, intelligent and sophisticated Hip Hoppers in a good postion to provide us with equivalent music.

Yea, what I been saying for years. You can see why Nikki going at Kim for PayPal hustlin' is nonsense.

Am I the only one who thinks that the thread starter and Young Guru are the same person? Would explain the thread starter's lust for the Roc and her affiliates. lol

His Illuminati stuff is off though.

Dope drop and big ups to Guru.

I remember hearing the name first on Kanye's "Last Call."

But everytime I've heard him speak it's enlightening. It'll definitely be interesting watching how the industry adapts to all the technological changes.

The idea about hip hop for the older crowd is spot on though. Can't say how many folks I've met who grew up on hip hop, but at some point stopped supporting it because they felt it no longer had anything to offer them. Even I sometimes feel like that, like let me focus solely on building my jazz collection...

i like when he mentioned the young cats having their own style.

i know lil B aint talking bout shit but if you cant see the creativeness in his style then you are being closed minded.

i honestly think the reason why some artist are more successful than others is becus theyre not afraid to be theirselves. soulja basically created his own success from a youtube video of him doing a stupid dance. im pretty sure alot people hated on him but at the same time alot people liked it so he kept doing him. before you knew it, it started to grow on you. like guru said anybody can be successful these day becuase of the way the media platform has changed. you have to just put the work in

Yea I know. It needs to drop already.

"We reported last month that Kanye West and Jay-Z's joint album, Watch The Throne, was almost done. According to engineer Young Guru, the record only needed a few "tweaks" before it could be finished and, you know, we could actually hear more than just "H.A.M." But now, another engineer working on the project, Mike Dean, has revealed that it might need to be mixed again after the first mix didn't sound so great. He also asserts that Watch The Throne is indeed nearly finished, though what that means for us remains up in the air. Who wants to start placing bets on when the album will actually drop?"
