I still think Brad Bird is a BEAST and woulda been the best pick, but I got love for Abrams. He was the "safe" pick.

Get that wack shit outta here. I'm so glad that they're FINALLY gonna blow all that weak-ass Post-ROTJ nonsense outta the water and into Fanfiction/Apocrypha status where it belongs. FOH w/ the million Palpatine clones and Yuuzhan Vong. Wack wack wack. Nobody wanna see that. Mara Jade & Thrawn were the only characters worth a shit out that whole thang.

The whole point of bringing back the old cast is to give them a final adventure they deserve. Instead of some bullshit that rehashes the original trilogy and runs around in circles while we wait for The Emperor to come back AGAIN. Seriously, I love the Star Wars universe but there's a reason all the EU stuff about the OLD republic was vastly superior to the NEW republic EU. Like, if you're gonna pick ONE character from the EU to put in the movies, pick HK-47 nigga.

The worse thing about the EU is them taking Jedi from mild telepaths/telekinetics when good swordsmanship to people that can control huge star destroyer and other ridiculous feats. There doesn't always have to be a power creep.

like f'real nobody saying to delete all the EU and burn the books lol, its just that they should cherry pick the dope ideas & concepts for the movies and leave the rest......like they been doing. Double Bladed Lightsabers came from EU. Coruscant came from EU. Jedi Council came from EU. The Sith came from EU. Etc.

ScreenCrush posted a photo of the note, which is dated May 16. 2014 and reads:
As ScreenCrush points out, the page on which Abrams' note is written is watermarked with script supervisor Dawn Gilliam's name, which could mean that behind that page, there are other pages with words on them that detail Star Wars: Episode VII's story, a$suming that's the script we're looking at. It's possible, right? But let's not get distracted by all of the juicy plot details we're not reading and focus on Abrams' brief but uplifting message, which not only expresses gratitude for all the work that's been done and will be done for this movie, but the requested effort to take good care of themselves and each other, and give the world the great film we're awaiting.
A positive attitude is certainly a good sign, as is his encouragement of unity and support among the cast and crew.
For those eagerly awaiting updates on production, since this latest one gives nothing away about the plot of the film, it's worth noting that this note is one more teasy bit of content to make its way online since production started last week. While we hang on every possible clue and rumor about Episode 7 that makes its way online, we can only hope that we'll see more content from the set and production as filming ensues.
Star Wars: Episode VII is set to arrive in theaters December 18, 2015.
