People stay overreacting to the death of the Expanded Universe lol.

KOTOR was MY SHIT AND I STILL WANT KOTOR 3 but damn it take place like 5,000 years before that movies lol, Revan and dem would be ancient myth by then anyway.

All the post-Return of Jedi EU stuff HAD to go tho, I'm sorry. You can't sandbag Abrams and the screenwriters with all these video games and comics books and novels about Palpatine cloning himself a zillion times and a dozen Skywalker kids and Yuuzhan Vong and blah blah blah. I don't know why people can't accept this and really expected faithful film adaptations of the Thrawn Trilogy etc. Just cross your fingers and hope those Thrawn/Mara Jade cameo rumors are true.

Oh and Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight was my life in the late 90s but I will be the first one to tell you that Kyle Katarn was a shitty character.

^ i agree that clone emporor shit was wack. although i would like to see the sith world destroyers and the solo kids ben skywalker and the death of chewbacca played out on the big screen. i'd like to see a movie adaptation or smallscreen version of shadows of the empire brought to life. either that or they somehow acknowledge those events in the new movies.

‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Adds Martial Arts Stars From ‘The Raid 2′

“The Raid 2″ stars Iko Uwais, Yayan Ruhian and Cecep Arif Rahman will put their amazing fight skills to use in J.J. Abrams‘ “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens,” TheWrap has learned.

The trio of talented martial artists join John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac in the Disney movie, which was produced by Lucasfilm and Bad Robot.

Another member of the “Raid” stunt team also participated in the top-secret shoot, though an individual familiar with the project declined to identify the performer.

Though it’s unclear whether the “Raid” trio will appear on the side of good or evil, one is expected to perish onscreen — meaning the stakes are life-and-death in the new “Star Wars” movie.

Infinite GOATS

Honestly they should have made this years ago. I've lost interest in star wars related movies & the cartoons. Only way I'll see this is if it comes on cable

Sounds like a move similar to getting Ray Park to play Darth Maul. They had Yoda basically doing Kung Fu in Episode 2. Hopefully they're playing Jedi or Sith. Their fighting abilities plus the use of the Force, epic!

George Lucas says Disney ditched his ideas for Star Wars: The Force Awakens
http://www.cnet.com/news/george-luc...-star-wars-the-force-awakens/#ftag=YHF65cbda0

The creator of Star Wars has said that Disney "didn't really want" to use his ideas, and came up with something new instead.

by Luke Westawa January 21, 2015

"Star Wars" creator George Lucas may have relinquished control of his space-faring franchise when he sold the rights to Disney back in 2012, but those wondering how much of the director's influence will find its way into the plot of the upcoming seventh instalment may now have an answer -- not much.

Following comments that he had started to craft some ideas for a new "Star Wars" trilogy before Lucasfilm was acquired, Lucas was asked in a recent interview with Cinema Blend to divulge some of the ideas he had cooked up for new "Star Wars" material.

"Well, the ones that I sold to Disney and everything, they came up to the decision that they didn't really want to do those," Lucas said.

"So they made up their own. It's not the ones that I originally wrote."

There will doubtless be many sci-fi fans claiming relief at the news that Lucas' ideas won't be making it into "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", which is scheduled for release in December. Widespread criticism of the CGI-heavy prequel trilogy that arrived between 1999 and 2005 has seen Lucas' cache within the geek community drop. This even led to viral hits such as a mocking reworking of the first "Force Awakens" trailer that imagines what the new film could look like with Lucas in the driving seat.

Are "Star Wars" fans altogether too eager to give Lucas a hard time though? I'd argue that while there's little to redeem the prequel movies, Lucas is the father of the "Star Wars" universe beloved by so, so many. It's his world we're daydreaming in when we spend long, dull meetings imagining epic lightsaber battles, or spicing up a boring commute with some Duel of the Fates. If I was in Disney's position, I would have thought long and hard before casting aside any ideas that poured directly out of Lucas' grey matter.

Here's hoping new director J.J. Abrams and chums have dreamed up something as exciting as the original trilogy, and haven't dismissed Lucas out of hand simply because his ideas have become tainted in the minds of "Star Wars" enthusiasts. Meanwhile, although creative control of "Star Wars" has been surrendered, Lucas still has plenty of work on the go, such as animated feature "Strange Magic", which hits cinemas this spring.

Are you happy to hear that Lucas' ideas for "The Force Awakens" aren't in the mix? Pop your thoughts in the comments, folks.

Considering how Lucus forgot up his own story lines and completely fucked up what was supposed to be (in theory at least,) a trilogy that was supposed to be more epic and greater than the original, if I were Disney, I'd be cool on his ideas too.

Rogue One Is the First Star Wars Stand-Alone Film, Rian Johnson to Write and Direct Star Wars: Episode VIII

“Always in motion is the future,” Yoda said. The future of the Star Warscinematic galaxy, however, is taking shape.

This morning at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, across the street from Lucasfilm, Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger hosted a shareholder meeting where he announced news regarding the first Star Wars stand-alone movie as well as Star Wars: Episode VIII.

Rogue One is the title for the first film in a unique series of big-screen adventures that explores the characters and events beyond the core Star Wars saga. Rogue One will be directed by Gareth Edwards (Monsters, Godzilla) and written by Oscar nominee Chris Weitz (Cinderella, About a Boy, Antz). The first actress cast is Felicity Jones, who garnered an Academy Award nomination and critical acclaim for her performance in The Theory of Everything. The idea for the story of Rogue One came from John Knoll, an Academy Award-winning visual effects supervisor and chief creative officer at Industrial Light & Magic. He will executive produce along with Simon Emanuel (The Dark Knight Rises, Fast & Furious 6) and Jason McGatlin (Tintin, War of the Worlds). Kathleen Kennedy and Tony To (Band of Brothers, The Pacific) are on board to produce and John Swartz (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) will co-produce. The film starts shooting this summer in London and is due for release on December 16, 2016.

In addition, Iger confirmed that Rian Johnson will write and direct Star Wars: Episode VIII. The film, which continues the saga after the events of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is set for release on May 26, 2017 — forty years and a day after the release of Star Wars: A New Hope in 1977. Johnson is widely considered one of cinema’s most gifted young filmmakers, having directed the modern sci-fi classic, Looper, as well as Brick and The Brothers Bloom. He was also behind the camera for three episodes of the critically-acclaimed TV series Breaking Bad, including “Ozymandias,” which series creator Vince Gilligan named as the best installment of the show. Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman, producer of Looper, Don Jon, Brick, and The Brothers Bloom, are on board to produce.
