Stalley hopes what he calls “the album before the album” satisfies his core fans and also appeals to new audience as well.

hopefully but callin your album honest cowboy aint gonna raise too many eye browse amongst the ubran crowd ... its like tech9 making the music he make and expect urban hiphop to have been on his movement years ago .... which him luck tho def can appreciate the break in sound ... hopefully he doesnt push out some dope tracks cause as long as the music is right he will bring people into his honest cowboy realm ......

damn yeah stalley ripped this ... def showing a more polished vocal and flow ... for those saying hes lacking in that area .....

but i dont see the hood really gravitating to this one chea .......... ?

imo he developing his own flow and sound withoput sacrifice... still sharpening steel it aint perfect yet but it will get there ... he could easily follow these lead of his mmg commards and use that simple as rhyme scheme they be using ... but it sounds like to me he is really trying to develop his own and sticking too it ........ he aint LIL B off ...... its just a lil abstract but thats on his previous tapes .... i only heard the track with scarface and schoolboy so far but he was onpoint on both of those tracks especially on 1987 he was running that joint ....

He is finding it but to me it sounds like a run on sentence in some songs.

This song he had with Ross and Nipsey Hussle his flow was all off.

If you haven't heard that you need to check it out so you can understand what people mean about his flow.

Great tape tho especially Swangin that's still a highlight.

not sure if your talking to me but i fully understand and like i said its not LIL B off ... its just abstract meaning something your not used too ;) oh and ive heard the song ....

ross and nipsey pretty much play the pocket like alot of artist do .... but you dont have too ... but so many play it so safely that when an artist who is trying to go against that grain to some it comes off as off beat but really your just not used to hearing that kind of flow .... great example of abstract styles not off beat rhyming .... Cormega & E40 ... LIL B is OFF BEAT lol .........

I wouldn't call it abstract. Lets just call it what it is. The shit is off

ODB abstract, Chance the Rapper abstract, E40 sure. Early Busta abstract this is kinda off to me

I appreciate different flows his just doesn't sound right imo.

I can understand where you're coming from. And like other posters have stated, I do feel it's getting better. But I feel like it's also sorta his trademark; that run-on flow. I know of a few local cats that spit and their style has been like that for as long as I can remember.

After digesting the tape, I love the joint. I think he has shown growth in every project he's released thus far, and that alone is a reason for him to be commended.

And naturally I'm going to go to bat for the homie since he is a hometown cat. But he really does represent the Midwesterner mind state very well.

So is this MOTY worthy? I'm finna download for work tomorrow.

Wouldn't go that far. That's still Chance, IMO.

I took a listen to the rest of this mixtape. Doesn't do it for me, dude is a decent rapper, but doesn't rhyme half the time and his flow is lacking.

If he had Drake's flow and Drake had his subject matter, they'd be perfect rappers
