Official Rap Battle 2K12 Thread

i just started getting back into all the battles this year ill admit. Shit got corny to me 6-7 years ago when it was really popping. Heard of a couple people here and there but had NO clue it was this deep & half these cats already battled each other. So far i seen:

Hollow vs Goodz (Hollow)

Hollow vs Hitman (Hollow)

DNA vs Dizaster (DNA)

ENess vs Arsonal (ENess)

Tech 9 vs DNA (i have a weak spot for Tech. hes hilarious...ill do the right thing and say DNA here)

Hollow vs Verb (havent watched 3rd round..annoyed me they were on a dance floor rapping)

ENess vs Solomon (Ness...Solomons corny and annoying)

Hollow vs Big T (Hollow)

saw some Bill Collector battles and couldnt sit through them

Summer Madness 2 (Mook;Lux;John John;Chilla;Serius;DNA)

whats some battles thats must see & who am i missing out on

Solomon bodied Ness and Ness verse was more entertaining, tho.

Solomon took one predictable joke and ran with it the whole battle. Not only is he better than that it shows a lack of creativity on his part. Major points off for that. he couldve beat Ness just spitting bars. Plus i agree with a lot of what Mook said about the Bigfoots dick type lines. Solomon has A LOT more of those kind of punches then people want to admit. Solomon basically flipped the Diddy/Bad Boy attack on Ness every possible in the first 10 bars, to keep revisiting it was wack.

But he still destroyed Ness.

What about Ness with his racist jokes?

I admit Solomon was corny in that battle but saying he won is a bit of a stretch.

i dont think Solomon deserved a win. Ness performed better, rebutted better & delivered better. his lyrics were the weaker of the two but that battle depended on you already knowing Ness & his backstory with Diddy. They barely count as personals. Which unbiased, takes more away from Solomon. It was a crutch for him. Solomon & a lot of these new cats esp the Grindtime ones ive seen treat their battles as some big inside joke on some treehouse shit. I penalize mook & other rappers for using crtuches. So i gotta be consistent. You have to judge it as if u dont already know the rappers and just the performance. Ness registered better on everything except lyrics. Solomons corniness brings his bars down. takes alot of the bite away and the repetitive schemes wipes it all out

Solomons a better MC than Ness on any other day so his "lyrics" were better. but he did not PROVE it in THAT battle. We're just going off the fact we already know that & preconceived ideas of Ness's ability. So im not giving him the win just b/c he IS technically better if that makes sense. A lot of his shit was jus "ennh" "whatever" & people laughing at corny shit.

i think for how often & obivous white jokes are Ness didnt use them that much. Unlike Solomon he didnt base his whole battle around him being white as Solomon did around the same basic Bad Boy joke. 430 ways of sayin "You got dropped and your older now"

That notion isn't so ludacris. Maybe, just maybe leading up to the battle Lux thought he could get some much needed publicity off one of the faces of battle rap. It's no different than a rapper using beef with another rapper to boost sales. (50 Cent ... Kayne West)

Just the first lines of his second verse during the battle imply he choked on purpose.

He didn't come up with that on the spot. Anybody who has kept up with Lux knows he never goes off the top. He's primarily a written battler. That choke is the reason that battle is one of the most popular, ever. And that released second verse is the reason people are still talking about it today; admit it, it's smart.
