September’s Free PlayStation Plus Games Are…

Spanning the platforms.

If you’re a PlayStation Plus user, you’re naturally curious what free games you can look forward to in the coming month. Well, we have your answer.

Below are the five games that will be free to download on PlayStation Plus in North America throughout September. As always, these games won’t be made free at the same time, but will be staggered throughout the month. It’s still unclear when each game will be free, and which already-free game each will replace in the Instant Game Collection.

Galaga Legions DX (PSN)

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (PSP)

ICO HD (PS3)

Resident Evil Chronicles HD Collection (PS3)

Rayman Origins (Vita)

PSN Tuesday: Halloween sale, Rocksmith 2014 and free Hotline Miami for PS Plus

by Jordan Mallory Writer RSS (10 minutes ago)

1

In addition to the new PlayStation 4 titles up for pre-order, this week's injection of PlayStation Store content brings Rocksmith 2014 Edition, while Deus Ex: Human Revolution – Director's Cut and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West Premium Edition remind us what gaming was like many, many (read: two-ish) years ago.

PlayStation Plus subscribers get a free copy of Hotline Miami added to their collection, and further discounts on games included in Sony's ongoing Sale of the Dead, which lasts until November 4. Spooky-ooky games marked down by the sale include The Walking Dead, The Last of Us, Resident Evil 4 HD, Dead Rising 2: Off The Record, Dead Island Riptide and a bunch of other festively appropriate software.

Borderlands 2, GRID 2 Free For PlayStation Plus Users

Ready your weapons.

Good news, North American PlayStation Plus subscribers: Sony has revealed four games that will be free for you to download in December of 2013.

Let’s start out with the biggest of them all: Borderlands 2. Gearbox Software’s smash-hit shooter will be free in December, and that’s good news, because we absolutely loved it.

Other free games will include racer GRID 2 on PlayStation 3 (a great game), as well as two PS Vita titles: Urban Trial Freestyle and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.

As usual, these free games will be added to the Instant Game Collection – a free catalog of downloadables – as we move through December. So don’t expect them to all be free at once.

Update: Sony's Morgan Haro reached out to IGN to let us know that a fifth game will also be free: the super fun PlayStation Network game Dyad.
