it sucks but its the way it is, but music is music you can put this mixtape up against any album that came out this year, but i also feel most artist feel they have to create 1 or 2 radio friendly songs and it just messes up the flow of the album

Yea i feel u on this post 100 percent. I guess if someone ask me for my top 5 albums im always gonna say "well this aint a album but its a mixtape" no prob with that, sometimes the problem is tho its hard to et crictical acclaim or be called classic if its not a album, but at this day n age now mixtapes is its own category, where an artist can do what they want n nowadays theres "classic mixtapes" instead of albums, i jus wish sometimes they could make those songs on albums so they could get a 5 mic, grammy, BET award, MTV award...jus something official.

n yall how that Freddie Gibbs mixtape soundin like? on SOHH people was sayin its waaay better then ASAP Rocky's tape, imma check that out too after this.

i still gotta give the gibbs mixtapes a couple of spins along with nipsy hussle mixtape its, so much stuff dropped the last month, And with the album i also thing labels try to take too much control over a album now. I was watching the a tribe called quest documentary the other day and they were talking about how they were in the studio just making music and the label had to come and just take the album. I dont think that happens any more labels tell these artist what they want too much. The lupe album is a perfect example the label gave him beats and told him what they wanted him to rhyme about on certain songs

Co-sign this shit. A mixtape can be the best album released all year but it's not seen like that because it's a mixtape.

i've downloaded every Banks mixtape as they've come out and CC2 is up there with the best of them. IMO Cold Corner & CC2 >> 5 or better series. Halloween Havoc, 4-30-09 all mixtapes just as good and slept on too. i think Rotten Apple his best album too, shit's more dark and the least commercial of his releases
