Official J Cole: Cole World album thread

Makaveli you the biggest cole fan on the forum besides J.Capri did he fulfill your expectations for this album and what

would you like him to do better on his next album.

Musically, this album is FANTASTIC.

1. Production- Piff. This was my one concern when I heard he was producing most of it. Every beat is good, but some (D&D3, Gods Gift, Rise and Shine, Nobodys Perfect) are amazing

2. Lyrics- Nice. I thought he spit harder on FNL, but still had some nice lines on here

My ONLY problem is the song topics. He has too many songs about bitches. I understand the singles have to be directed at women, but for someone who is supposed to be anti-Drake, there was a lot of love songs on here. Also, the thing I like most about Cole is how socially conscious he is. This album could have used more songs like "Breakdown" and less songs like "Nothing Lasts Forever"

Nothing wrong with being personal, as an artist you should be, but Cole is not that interesting. He was poor growing up but he can't talk about struggling like a Pac or Eminem. He can't talk about hustling like a Jay or Biggie. He cant talk about being gangsta like a 50 Cent. Drake is the one of the few artists who can make the everyman story interesting. Cole just isn't. That's why some of his best songs (Enchanted, Show Me Something, 2Face etc.) are not really about him. "Breakdown" is dope as fuck though

yeah i agree wit this post. I don't think this is the best cole can do. I think he's gonna find more of a niche as time goes on and he'll mature more as a artist.

yeah this should do well with college kids i get that school feel listening to some songs and i don't think people can say Cole gave away his best beats the production is nice on the album.

From what you described this joint for me is a skip, This year i have been pretty much skipping albums i'm not interested in and none of the tracks I have heard (Mr. Nice Watch,Lights Please,In Morning,Work Out,The Joint with trey songz) Make me wanna listen to this album. I wasn't feeling FNL that much but if he not even spitting at that level and has a ton of songs for the chicks i'm going to have to pass now I will check out Breakdown because that seems to be the stand out track .

I just heard the snippets and a lot of the songs sounded solid. I'm just gonna wait for the album to come out and I will cop it. I hope a lot of the people with the leak will still buy it but I have a feeling a good 75% of you will not. SMH

Pre-ordered the album yesterday just as I will for Jay Electronica's album and "Take Care". Gotta support good music.

I tip my hat to him. This album is really damn good. My second favorite of the year. Definite purchase. I was tipping my hat to Drake and Big Sean for dropping good debuts but this shits on both by a large margin.
