MUNCIE – A Muncie teenager was arrested early Thursday on allegations he robbed participants in a Craigslist transaction last August.
Kendall J. Hart, 19, 217 E. Seventh St., was preliminarily charged with armed robbery, a Level 3 felony carrying a maximum 20-year prison term. He was being held in the Delaware County jail under a $40,000 bond.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Hart and another man are accused of robbing two Muncie residents on Aug. 19, when the alleged victims were in the process of selling a video game system,
trying to complete a deal negotiated on Craigslist.
The holdup allegedly took place near Mill Pond Apartments in the 5300 block of West Keller Road.
The bandits took “the game system, a large amount of cash, (one of the victim’s) cellular phone, and a bag,” a city police detective wrote.
During the crime, one of the robbers produced a handgun and stuck it against one of the victim’s stomachs, telling him “not to yell or he would shoot,” according to the report.
In late March, Kyle Monroe, a Muncie Police Department detective, said his department in recent months had investigated a series of robberies, and attempted robberies, targeting people selling video game systems on Craigslist.
