i didnt take you as a 50 or Ja rule fan to be honest tho....
my Atmosphere the family sign STILL hasnt arrived. im gonna have to ring them and shout at them or something. haha
im gonna list out what specific cd's i got later on. when i get the time.
Thanks, haha I'm no longer a 50 Cent or Ja Rule fan, in the days when I was 12-16 I listened to MTV and just liked whatever was on there whilst also buying all the old Hip Hop CD's. Reviews weren't readily available considering dial up Internet speeds meant that you'd also take over the phone line. I bought all my CD's based on the covers and their names as to whether they'd appeared on MTV. I remember I used to download 8 threads in the I.C. in windows and then have to disconnect so that the phone line was free, but I got to read around 80-100 posts from posters about given artists. People growing up now don't realise how lucky they are lol.
Ja Rule kinda fell off after Venni Vetti Vicci (if we're honest with hindsight), but in my early teens I enjoyed that sorta hip hop, but then I also had an obsession with owning a rappers entire discography, for instance, I bought Warren G's entire discography after buying Regulate...Return to the G Funk Era (even though most of it turned out sub-par).
As for 50 Cent, pre-GRODT, he was well-liked amongst a more intellectual Reason board and for good reason, I still enjoy some of his early mixtapes like the ones I have in my collection, but as soon as he did 21 Questions, it was like :/ 'cos he was going at Ja Rule for the same reasons.... shameful.
Anyways, when I turned 18 I started to find a lot of independent hip hop in The Essence and other places, that was 7 years ago now, so I diversified as I got older.
Can't believe it's still not arrived, have you emailed them and received a reply?
Cool cool. It takes forever I know, I was re-ordering my collection, so I thought I'd take snaps whilst this thread was stickied.
