Texas A&M has parted ways with signee Alton Robinson.

The defensive end from Converse Judson was released from his scholarship, coach Kevin Sumlin confirmed Thursday.

Robinson signed in February, but within two weeks was arrested for felony robbery charges.

Sumlin said Robinson’s legal situation has yet to be resolved.

Back in February, Robinson’s ex-girlfriend filed a complaint with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office against Robinson. She alleged that Robinson was hiding outside her home on the night of Feb. 9. She said he approached her and stole her purse. He ran off with the purse and later dropped it, but police say he kept her cellphone. The San Antonio Express News reported that Robinson was accused of a similar crime a year ago.
