He's mainly taken over dumpster fire jobs and turns them around. Then he gets promoted and leaves.

Thats why his overall record is not a good one.

He's from Bradenton and many feel he would only leave Oregon for UF or FSU.

He's a top recruiter, some call him the 3rd Harbaugh brother. He played for Harbaugh's dad at WKU and coached under Jim Harbaugh too. He probably comes with OL coach Mario Cristobal on his staff as well who's considered a great recruiter in SFL from Miami.

His USF turnaround was slow because he was running a west coast offense with power running that didn't fit his roster. In the middle of year 3 he changed the offense to the "Gulf Coast" offense and his offense took off. The following year he left for Oregon. Who was 4-8 last season.

I think UF should've hired him but they wasted time on Chip Kelly then panicked and went with familiarity (i guess). I think he would do work anywhere in Florida. People look at his record and discredit him but when you look at it closely you can see why his record is poor but also see he leaves those programs much better than he found them.

HIs turnaround at WKU helped Petrino the Lville job. His turnaround at USF had Strong's USF team ranked in top 25.

He's not the greatest X's and O's coach yet but he's decent and he will stock the roster with talent and hire a great staff.

We all see where just talent and a great staff has gotten Dabo...but WT offer even more.

It was Spurrier who told Bama to look at Nick Saban after Rich Rod and Spurrier turned them down.

How would you feel about Charlie Strong?

He was long gone by the time I started working there, but some of adminstrative people that were still working at SCAR always spoke highly of him. I throw the Texas shit out the window with him because that was doomed to fail before it began. I wouldn't be mad at all if that's who we end up with.
