Joseph Tsai, the executive vice chairman and co-founder of Chinese e-commerce goliath Alibaba, has reached an agreement in principle to purchase a 49 percent minority stake in the Brooklyn Nets that includes the option to acquire controlling interest of the NBA franchise in several years, league sources told ESPN.

The purchase price will be based upon a $2.3 billion valuation of the team, league sources said.

Fuck the Nets but I like this.

Between hiring Sean Marks and Kenny Atkinson, and acquiring young talent with potential like D.Lo, and now there being steps going forward with getting rid of the russian, its a good look.

Just gotta hope this Chinese dude doesnt wild out and try to make a splash like these international owners try to do.

look at this bozo

Towns has -8.27 points saved on defense through five games. The only big men in the NBA with worse ratings so far are Kristaps Porzingis and Paul Millsap.

Opponents have scored 119.5 points per 100 possessions while Towns is on the floor. Among all starting centers in the league, the only player with a worse defensive rating is Kelly Olynyk.

The Timberwolves struggled defensively with Towns on the court, posting a 110.8 defensive rating. That would’ve been good for last in the league if applied throughout the whole year. When he was sitting on the bench, however, their rating improved exponentially to 103.6 which would’ve been fifth-best in the NBA.”This season, he has allowed 44.0 points per game in the paint, the second-highest among all starting centers. The 13.8 points per game he has allowed via fastbreak is also the second-most from any starting center.

The third-year center has already had legitimately embarrassing moments on the defensive end of the court, like when Utah’s Rodney Hood dribbled a ball through his legs.

Bron said the Nets pick might not be that good lol.

I know it's a few of y'all that thought the pick was going to lose value before the season started.

I always thought they'd be good enough to compete for the 8th seed.

Last year they did a lot right in terms of offense it's just that they couldn't stop anybody. Sean Marks really did the best he could.

They have a lot of good pieces at every position but would be even better with Lin at the 1. He's their best perimeter defender and moving DLo to the 2 would've opened up their offense a lot more.

I got a nice bet with my mans that they make the playoffs so I hope they keep it up.

You bet money on that shit?!? man hell nah

I think the nets pick will be in the 6-10 range makin the playoffs a reach.I hope they do make it that would be hilarious

Towns is my dude, im a fan, but everyone keeps talking like Towns is head and shoulders better than KP.

Idk about all that. Towns had a better first two years, but KP has a better skillset offensively, and is way better defensively. KP not been doing great on defense so far this year, but I think thatll fix itself

Im hearing things man.

Its looking like Hornacek gonna get fired over the next few days, and it looks like the Knicks are considering Mark Jackson.

Mark Jackson is not a great xs and os guy, but he has a strong personality and gets players to play hard. Plus he knows how to deal with NY media.

Not sure how I feel about all this but Hornacek really had no chance after being Phils puppet last year.

Yeah... $500 but I got leeway though. 250 for the pick and 250 for the 8th seed.

He got their pick being top 3 still. I think they're better than that.

So they better than Phoenix, Atlanta, Chicago and NY as far as picks go.

Then fighting for the 8th seed Orlando, Detroit, Charlotte and Indiana all ain't that much better than each other. Charlotte might be slightly better than them but realistically they'll be separated by only a few games.

That's just how bad the east is.

I should be good.

you should at least be good for the pick not being top 3

Knicks,Bulls,Hawks in the east alone should be worse than the nets.

Suns,Mavs,Kings in the west maybe pelicans and lakers too

blake touches the ball on almost every possession

seems like that is going a long way for his confidence and rhythm but it could also be that blakes bernstein bears face ass inconsistent play in the 4th may have been attributed to the fear of ridicule by cp3

no se

i would start dieng over towns

yea

i think for a 3 game stretch or so i would start dieng over towns

i dont think dieng is better but he does play better defense or at least puts in effort

the point would be to not tell towns its short term and make him earn his playing time back by playing defense because he is always getting beat down the floor by his man -- even after made baskets -- this leaves taj and a wing to cover for him until he gets there -- which if the opponent gets into their set quickly enough leaves them out of position -- which cascades into a cavalcade of chasing and over helping that often ends up in a wide open layup or 3
