Said Scott to KPCC:

"We know how hard he works, we know how driven he is. But I think he’s at the point too where he’s so much more mature, and he understands that he only has a few more miles left on that body, you know, maybe two, maybe three years. And I think he’s probably more acceptable to accept the fact that you can’t practice every day. There might be some games where you can’t play this game or that game. But that’s all to be determined....

"But again, he’s so competitive, he wants to win, and I do too. But I don’t want to win at the expense of having my one of my guys get hurt. And sometimes, like I said, we’re going to sit down, me and my trainer have already sat down, already started talking about the amount of minutes Kobe should probably play, going into this season. And I have to stand fast on that. I have to make sure that when he’s up to those minutes, that’s it, no matter what the game situation is, as much as I want to win, as much as he wants to win, I’m not going to sacrifice his health to try to win games."

What yall think of the potential Beasley signing, theyre saying he looks good in workouts, but of course with Beasley you gotta take that with a grain of salt and a bucket of ice water to the dome. With what we have now why not?

We need bodies...but beasly garbage

Beasley gets buckets. I don't see how they will find playing time for him tho. Him and Randle are similar and Boozer will eat. Y'all need a Center

The player ratings for the Laker have been revealed.... Kobe at 89

The latest comes in the form of Sports Illustrated, who ranked the top-100 players in the NBA. They ranked Bryant number 24, despite being number nine last season. The main reason for the drop, they would explain, is his age, and the unknown of whether he can regain his form:

Rivals would rather do just about anything than prematurely write off Bryant, out of respect to his work ethic and historical standing, but he’s reaching the point, age-wise, where few elite players have traveled [...] getting back to his pre-injury form wouldn’t just be impressive; it would be virtually unprecedented.

Sports Illustrated placed Bryant right in between Al Horford and Derrick Rose, two other players who are also coming off of season-ending injuries. All three players will be looking to prove they are still amongst the NBA’s elite.

Bryant clearly has a long road to climb, but he is doing everything possible to prove that he can still be great. He has continued his legendary off-season workouts, even incorporating some of his younger teammates into his off-season plans.

Just picked up Ronnie Price too... This is some ugly shyt... Pray for Kobe's health I don't want to see either play this year at all

Nash is mostly there for morale and camaraderie at this point. Whatever he contributes numbers-wise we'll roll with regardless.

I was listening to Mason & Ireland on ESPN 710 radio here in LA and mentioned sources from the Lakers camp say Nash is looking better than everyone else on the team.

Both radio hosts laughed.
