well if we are being honest , then Amare didn't really WANT to go to NY, the Knicks were the only team to offer him a guaranteed 5th year on that 100 milli deal. PHX was only willing to offer 3 years so Amare knowing that he was close to being washed took the offer that had the 5 years. just a common sense move by him. if Toronto would have offered him the most he woulda went there.

I left this whole deal alone. The Knicks were the only team willing to go ham for Amare. But I do believe Amare did want NY to some extent. It led to him famously making the claim "The Knicks are back!"
