Listen to my argument. you are down to you're last out and last strike TWICE! In two consecutive innings with TWO RUN LEADS. 86 the Red Sox only happened in one inning. The Rex Sox and Yankees don't count cause that was not the World Series. Look at it realistically. That shit is monumental.

The 04 red sox/Yankees was worse. I know it wasn't the WS but for all intents and purposes that was the WS.

i think it could be up there with all time baseball chokes.

but not sports in general.

i don't view any baseball choke to be on the same level of a sport that is timed. in timed sports, you can have a huge lead and can control the clock and dictate the game creating an unfair advantage to the opponent. Unfair in the sense that they aren't given an equal chance to make a comeback. so when they do make a comeback its extremely significant. in baseball, each time has the same number of outs and same number of innings to get it done. so a team comeback or blowing a lead in baseball isn't quite up there with blowing leads in other sports.

Red Sox And Yankees worst cause of the implication and the two teams involved. But, this is drastic as hell! Just look at the fucking numbers. You don't lose games like that in the postseason, none less the World Series.

How are we defining choke? Is it just losing when your supposed to win? Or getting scared in the big moments and failing?

Did Tom Brady choke in super Bowl 42? He was supposes to win but despite the constant pressure he faced from the giants Dline he didn't throw a pick and lead his team down the field for a game winning TD drive with 2:42 left.

The hardest thing to do in sports is hit a baseball. and when you are in the playoffs the pitching and the fundementals become way more impactful and powerful. You are going against one of the best closers in the american league and down to you're last strike twice. down by two damn runs!!!!! and you come back twice! and hit a home run to do a walkoff. if it's not the biggest choke, it's the greatest comeback in a game in a championship in american sports history. people want to belittle it cause they don't like baseball.

no. because that same giants team took the same patriots team down to the wire at the end of the regular season. they proved they matched up well against the pats.

dude, if anything i'm giving respect to baseball.

i'm not downplaying the significance of that game. you just seem hellbent on assuming that everyone is.

but it doesn't qualify as a championship game for the cardinals, not technically speaking at least.

yeah your right, like i said before i just hope this doesn't turn into a curse for the rangers that last decades.

If their healthy they'll be competing. If they make to the WS again next year, they'll win it.

I agree. I used to sleep on baseball but living here in St. Louis they pretty much force this shit on you. St. Louis is a DIEHARD baseball city and the Cardinals are always dope. Last few years I have grown to appreciate baseball especially the playoffs.

i just dont see Pujols coming back , while they won the world series and had a great run i dont see that team being a true contender long term ...

Your coach is leaving one of the best in the game, Furcal is old , berkman is old , Matt Holliday is good but he didnt do shit he had by far one of the worst performances in a WS i have ever seen if not the worst , freese is a bright spot , 2nd basemen they flip flop a lot , jon jay is cool but not really a corner stone type player

i think pujols leaves and oes to a team that can win now and win in the future, Cardinals just had a magical late moment in the season in my opinion they did what they had to but im sure pujols deal would be on some 7 year type shit and that team aint made for 5-8 next years...
