Word life= slept on album

I made a thread about Word...Life, it came out around the time Nas, Biggie, Wu-Tang and Bone was popping, they were more popular groups but this album hit like fo' flat tires on a dump truck. On the real it's in my cd changer as we speak. The first time I heard "Times Up" it was on that same Silva Surfa mixtape I mentioned before and I was overseas when I heard it. Got back and caught the video, that beat was insane from the word go, that's why I hate all this so and so was the greatest when so much heat was being dropped, but that goes to show who is a trend following casual listener as opposed to who loves hip hop aka a head. And oh yeah, here's the sample

I had tha single a few months before tha albums came out...I think tha b side was a remix. I always used to say that beat playing as an intro would be a crazy track then years later Jay uses it for Public Service Announcement....that was/is a really dope album. Possibly most underrated of that Era imo...Tha stories, production, flow, lyrics, mood...everything about that album is classic...

He dissed a lot of sucka's with this song, sad thing is it rarely got video play on the video channels

I heard that Times Up second verse was about Nas....that "What's his face said you shot that get in tha park last week/ that was a lie...you was at church wit' ya moms" line...I think tha accapella version he says Nasty before he spits it...

I have this album on tape, cd and record. Love this album

OC was on juan epstein a couple weeks ago. Real dope interview

THIS TRACK IS WAY AHEAD OF ITS TIME...

WORD...LIFE IS A GREAT ALBUM...

BUCKWILD DESERVES MORE RECOGNITION FOR THIS MASTERPIECE.

I'm @ work now, I'll catch it when I go to lunch of to the pad

i was fortunate to see OC & all of DITC perform at least twice. once was at Columbia Uni in NY and another at Tramps in NY. the 2nd concert was Big L's last performance. he was supposed to perform 2 weeks later but wound up getting shot, and that show turned into his memorial show. great concert. I actually met Big L about a dozen times on 139th. he was always outside. and always looking out.

but OC's 1st 2 albums were great.

GOAT Album. I do prefer Jewelz though. One of those rare instances where a 2nd album is better than the debut. Both are fire albums though.
