Sonys not gonna have the "ready for stores PS4", but they'll have a PS4 prototype that "needs work".

I don't think Sony can afford this. They've already lost this gen. The Wii U was shown last year, and drops this year. Its very likely M$ could show the NeXtbox at this E3 this year, meaning it will drop in 2013. That means at the earliest, Sony would show the PS4 at E3 next year and not drop until 2014...giving the competition another headstart. Sony was dominant going into the PS3 and still managed to come out last. They would be destroyed if they wait this time considering the position they are already in right now.
