He wasn't even the most successful.. he was nice on the mic.. but his RAP career didnt have the staying power..

TICAL was ill.. that other shit Judgement day.. didnt really get attention from me.. heard it was wack though..

Black out with Redman was fire.. he definitely had the skills but Rae/ghost/Gza most definitely had better albums than him and multiples

Rae has made a career of being one of the nicest and influental rappers of all time by litteraly not making sense at all. But it sounds so nice that we dont give a fuck

Method is the laziest rapper ever with Jada coming a close second.

Jay E doesn't apply because he hasn't released shit yet. lol

Gza is lyrically the nicest member.

Why Masta Killa don't count @Du_Du

b/c this is what happens when you mix masta killa with a mic

mic

method man is the best overall rapper out of the whole crew....then again i'm not a fan of wu tang

ghostface has to be one of the worst rappers ever...i mean the guy can't flow and makes no sense

raekwon would come in 2nd though in terms of talent on the mic

Mef is one of the saddest stories in hip hop. At one point, he was top 3 in the Wu and top 5 in NY, possibly top 3. And he didn't drug himself to wackness. He didn't die. He didn't get sick. He didn't even fall off per se. He just... stopped. Rae and Ghost were mid tier in the Wu prior to the solos (those that listened to 36 Chambers feel free to debate this), but they stepped up big time with their debuts. They groomed Mef to be the star of the Wu, gave him his own solo joint and everything. He now has the least amount of solo albums in that group.

As far as the question at hand, c'mon now. Trying to find the best member in the Wu is like... trying to find the best member in the Wu.

If Method Man was more selfish he'd be up there with Nas and Jay as NY's greats. He put the Wu over his own solo career and I can respect that.

Had you asked me back in like 93-94, I would have given you the look like...

However, after many years of support and Wu fandom, I can no longer confidently say that he is the nicest "overall". He may be the most well rounded and versatile, but all of his albums (aside from the 1st) have been disappointing imo. Tical was my fav until Ghost showed me the light. Ghost is certainly not the most lyrical in the group, but he is definitely the most entertaining and has the best catalogue. Gza, Meth, Rae and Deck are the most lyrical imo, but Meth has the best delivery and is easily the most marketable. Gza and Deck are slept on, but both are dope lyrically. U-God and Master Killa should have been excommunicated a long time ago....although I will admit U-God has improved as of late....if that's saying much. Odb is Odb. Rza has his moments, but is not consistent enough lyrically.

I wouldn't say Ghost was better in the 90s, but Ghost became the best once Supreme Clientele dropped imo..

Rae dropped a classic in 95 that Ghost was featured heavily on..

Ghost dropped a solo classic the following year..

Then Meth and Rae dropped sophomore albums a few years later that weren't touching their first albums (imo), which would make it easier to build a case for why Ghost is the best once he dropped Supreme Clientele..

Just my 2 cents though..
