He got all the answers now (cuz hindsight 20/20) after the album dropped but I promise he wasnt this vocal during to marketing process.
Producers get paid percentages for replays and downloads. If he had invested time and money in this and it is not paying off, in the current climate he is better off airing shit out and cutting ties if he needs to for his own career to keep going so he can work with other artists, Calvin Harris did the same deading his association with Rita Ora when shit went sour with them. Producers and writers do 90% of the work now, singers are interchangeable and most songs get shopped around all the time. There's very little to shop to Nicki that couldn't be shopped to other artists who are easier to work with. The business is not what it was in the 70s, experimentation and artist flops that achieved some personal goal aren't justifiable to flop anymore.
