They conveyed their perspective but did not provide anything emotionally compelling for me to invest into this song. The production fits the concept but the lack of any soul made this a one time listen. Crooked I had the best verse and Royce had the best punchline with the Magic Johnson reference but overall the track just didn't move me.

this is shady 2.0! i love these guys but wanna see them shine on their own! a track like "Monsters In My Head" should have at least two verses for Crooked I and Joe Budden alone! Just like The Game's version which i think is a pretty introspective and honest display of lyricism from him. this collab is crazy
